Thousand, if not millions, had their jobs saved by stimulus money, and many of them are positions like teachers (you know, those things that allow schools to run). This prevents greater collapse.

I also wonder if you even care about leaving open construction zones that would otherwise be completely halted if an area didn't have some of that stimulus money.

If u think the GOP had it tough in 2008, look at 2010:

The Dems have a 59-41 lead in the Sen., but they only have 17 seats (about 25%) up for election in 2010 & all look secure unless Huckabee changes him mind & runs in Ark. He could take a Dem seat.

On the GOP side they have 19 seats up for election (about 50%) & could even end up w/ 20 or 21. They'll prolly have 6 resignations...maybe more & about 10 seats r in trouble.
