Guys... i need help... i love music.... and i got too used to The No.12, and (old) DGD, TFOT,The Sound of animals fighting, and anything else you can think of. but then i found this... and i was wondering....WTH CAN I FIND MORE MUSIC LIKE THIS?!?!?!?!?!?! :D
This is definitely one their best, no doubt. Dark, insightful, emotional (as only Geoff does!), atmospheric yet urgent, should even please the jackasses who hate them post-fullcollapse for a different sound. It's got it all, this song, cuts to Thursday's essence.
thursday was popular maybe 10 years ago. Most of the people that listen to them now used to listen to them back when Full Collapse came out (at least, speaking for myself).
@FractalRaver I feel like Thursday lost a significant portion of their fanbase after the release of A City By the Lights Divided, which is actually my third favorite album by them.
@Styxs420 thats crazy, i heard them 1st when i was about 18 in 2002, full collapse was out then and i think the best raw form of them, this song and songs like it are incredible though, dont know why they never play M. Shephard live
Haha, people have no idea how hard it is to-re-record in the studio moments like this one. When you're a band like Thursday, you truly never play a song the same way twice.
oh of course. thats not rude at all ha. i must say there is no best album in the world, only talented albums. this is definately one of them =) lyrics and instruments AND vocals =) i really can't say i care for common existence much though....
that's your opinion. personally, my favorite album is of malice and the magnum heart by misery signals, as well as recreation day by evergrey. so there is no best album, only very amazing ones
hey completely random question: what stuff do you like more? their hard rock stuff or their more current stuff? i personally like their more current stuff more but thats just me
If you're talking about Envy, I haven't heard much of their real early stuff so I can't judge it that much.
I first was exposed to them via Insomniac Doze but I only really listened to Further Ahead of the Warp.
I'm more familiar with All The Footprints You've Ever Left And The Fear Expecting Ahead and A Dead Sinking Story. I like those better but I can appreciate Insomniac Doze too.
Envy, judging from Breathing and Dying in This Place, their first release, was straight-up screamo. Really short songs, entirely screamed vocals, and really fast overall. The drummer almost started blasting a few times too.
ill try. the thing is tho, there are two versions of the lyrics posted and idk which is accurate, but i have the vinyl itself and that has the lyrics on the back so i guess i could just copy them, that just takes longer haha
well, i would suggest getting it legally to support them. i'd say napster. thats what i use and i was surprised to see it was on there, even though i bought the vinyl xD idk anywhere else tho
damn, i used to listen to thursday back in the full collapse, war all the time era.. really lost faith in them once a city by the light divided was released (was only a fan of at this velocity and running from the rain)... but this has given me some hope, any more songs been leaked?
@VaIIentine bought it the day it came out =] it's the album that got me back into Thursday. Even though I like War All The Time a bit more, No Devolution is one of their best albums.
Its not just the fact that Rickley has a passionate/believable voice. Its the fact that each member from Tucker to Tom the whole band is playing totally different parts if you listen closely. If you listen to Understanding on headphones you'll realize that the bass alone is it's own seperate part. There is allot of bands that have better talent but great CHEMISTRY is the real meat and potatoes of a song and that is what makes Thursday so good.
Common Existence is better than No Devolucion, ND has some awful songs on it.
Some really awesome songs, but alot more bad ones than Common Existence

I don't remember, something off their pre-Insomniac Doze stuff, either from a Dead Sinking Story or their other one but after their hardcore period.
