@thehardys88 why? unless you have 800 base arp, which is only found with half the icc gear, arcane shot does more than steady shot, especially if you have imp arcane shot. and i can see you saying something about it being a net dps loss and the points could be better spent elsewhere and without that armour pen i should be surv. but i have around a 5.4k gs (not the best i know) yet i have pulled up to 8.2k on some bosses, and outdps surv hunters with 5.7k+ gs
if you fire 3 exploding shots in a row when lock and load comes up you are an idiot!
this mistake is common
if you fire them back to back the second explosion NEVER happens for 2/3s of those shots. so you want to fire expoding shot every other shot when lock and load goes off. the GCD should be about perfect for all your second explosions to go off

BTW: If Lock and Load procs I use 1 steady shot in between 2 Explosive Shots. Fits nearly perfect.
What is the addon you are using that displays "POWER" when Loack and Load is on? might help much. Perhaps a complete List of addons would be possible just for comparing?
Glad you liked it! :) I'll sometimes squeeze a serpent sting refresh in during my lock and load too. I think for people starting out it's just easier to not worry about it.
My addon that says "power" is power auras classic. Some of the other addons I use are forte xorcist, recount, bartender, pitbull, and kgpanels.

Well, by using it as filler you'd be locking out explosive shot, which is your #1 dps ability as survival.
