Bobbin Lace Making: Constructing a Cookie Pillow

I saw someone selling a cookie pillow made from Ethafoam. I wonder which would hold up better over a long period of time and after several uses?

P.S. I love that this macho-harley looking guy is actually a lace-maker!! How unexpected!
