Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
Christ! It's been 2 years since I first saw this and still return when I need to smile and feel good. You guys make me so happy and I hope the two of you are still this excited about each other...meaning Susan.
thanks so much for this totally awesome video! ive always loved the buckinghams every though they were before my time! this is real music! thanks again for this totally cool video!
I was serfing for memories and you guys gave me the best! A Susan was my High School sweetheart and of course like all of us we went through rough times. So always loved the Buckinghams and this song, but your clip gave a wonderful addition to that memory, Thanks!
GREAT treatment! There was a Birmingham, Alabama AM radio DJ in '68 who didn't know what the hell the "noise" part was about, you guys had more fun with it!
@rickr442 I didn't know myself what that noise part of the song was all about , maybe it was the sound of fear of the singer losing his girl , I don't know , but I liked what you guys did with that part .
The funny thing is... The Buckinghams actually DID make a video of this song. I met them at Santa Monica Pier while they were filming. Can't find the video on YouTube.
I just love that 'sound'. I've always loved this kind of music. I don't know why, but it suits me just fine. (I was only a young lad when it came out.)
Good job, guys. Never thought I'd see Dinosaur Park in Rapid City again. Oh the memories from Skyline Drive back in the 60's when I was at Ellsworth AFB.
Susan is a lucky girl. Hope she appreciated the effort.
Did this group leave the waters off Chicago area bound for the West Coast in a bid to prolong their fame ? Loved their music no matter where they hailed from .
you're amazing!!! LOL ... the timing and choreography are just great!!! i can't help but watch this video every so often. i give you 5 stars for the performance!!!
Very very well done, guys!! Fantastik and funny. NOT cheezy at all. The Buckinghams would indeed be proud of you. But sorry, Dennis is still the cutest of all. LOL
Thanks Chad. Excellent Job. The best part is you guys can't possibly be old enough to have been around when the single was released. That means you appreciate one of the best bands to come out of the 60's and made this wonderful video. Nicely done fellas.
I'm sure Susan's heart melted when she saw this. Who's wouldn't? The director and photographer were very creative and brought out the best in these guys. Great job!
A Day in the Life of Susan. You guys made me watch a turn-off-the-top-40-radio-station-and-do-it-quickly song. . . and I enjoyed it. You ba$tard$!!!!!
I just saw them this past weekend in Watertown, after a 4.5 hour drive from Toronto. I didn't get a chance to talk to them after the show, but at about 1:30 - 2:00 into the song I would love to know what was with the trainwreck sound. Please, if anyone knows, leave me a line. Thanks.
YZoo..Several Bands in 67 and 68 inserted a batch of music / noise in songs. Usually 16 to 32 bars of this music noise starting low on a scale and culminating note wise high. Why? The Beatles did it on Sgt. Pepper. The middle section of "A Day in the Life." Everybody thought it was cool. So...many groups had their own version of that ascending music noise on one of their songs. The reason The Beatles did it? George Martin was covering up a tape splice from Lennon's part to McCartney's part.
@allegradrums The noise in the middle of 'Susan' was 100% on Jim Guercio. When the members of the band first heard the song played on the radio the noise was a complete surprise to them. They felt it ruined the song, actually.
I had a girlfriend in high school in 1967 and during a rough period the Buckingham's Don't You Care was on the charts. It seemed to capture how we felt at the time. this song was their next hit and it also resonated because...her name was Susan. these songs always conjure up wonderful memories.
This is awesome! I haven't heard this song in so many years, and believe it or not, forgot what the name of it was and never knew who did it. They just don't play it on the radio---ever. I came across this by accident and was so glad to find it, and absolutely LOVED the video you made! You all seem like a cool and fun bunch of guys, and I gotta give you points for being a romantic and doing this for your woman. Cheers!
Hey Guys! An unbelievably great video that you should be proud of. As a musician of the 60's all the way to the year 2000+, you couldn't have picked a better song or group to emulate. Real class! ~
Hey guys, this vid was great and it looks like you guys work pretty well together when you sing such a beautiful song like this. This vid was shot in Banning Calif off the i-10 fwy east of Morongo Casino where they have the Dinasours by the Shell gas station. Thank you for the laughs and entertainment.
To who ever put this on the web, I hope you don't mind if I deadacate this song to my best friend and every one named Susan in the world, oh if you are woundering I am a girl, but not gay just some one who misses her bf
hey thanks for allowing me to share this video and song to my friend Susan she loves this song. She was my teacher when I was in school and now we are good friends
Danny I remember asking you to buy me this record you can't finf it ,now its here on Tube thamnks Tube & thanks Danny Magisa ok ....I love this song thanks Buckinghams...Susan Magisa
Cool video and a great song. You can probably blame the Beatles for the psychodelic stuff in the song. It was the sixties after all. If anyone is interested, the Buckinghams creator? producer? (my memory is not quite what is was) was James William Guercio (pardon the spelling) later to achieve the real big time sucess with Chicago. Those of you music fiends like I was once might have noticed the horns in The Buckinghams songs.
Am I the only guy who admits to loving the psychedelic part in the middle-I think it adds to the song, though most may not. But that was the times, and I loved it. I think the ending of the various vocal parts is fantastic, plus I always liked their drummer.
They only had a few years run, but their pop songs hold up very well, this one included.
you should check the history on that sometime, its pretty interesting stuff. apparently the band didnt even know it was going into the song but it was added latter by the record companies.
I just love this song, their last big hit from January 1968. It peaked nationally at #11. I remember one day in March or April of '68, riding in the back seat of my parents' '64 Pontiac, with my brother driving and my dad sitting in the front passengers' seat. My brother cranked the song up, but when it got to the "psychodelic nightmare" part in the middle, my dad just shook his head and said "what the hell!" Haha!
Some stations wouldn't even PLAY that part, but thank GOD, WABC radio of out NYC always did! It's the climatic part of Charles Ive's "Central Park in the Dark" buried between "The Buckinghams" playing and singing "Susan" backwards.
Great video-I'm a Buckinghams fan from years back and you guys made the perfect video that was never made when it should've been. Take a bow you loopy (yet talented) goofballs! Great job.
Great video to one of The Buckinghams' best songs from 1968. Glad to hear you have more projects in the works. How about trying out "Don't You Care?" by The Buckinghams. Your backup guys can do the ooooh my my my baby part...or Mercy, Mercy, Mercy...made for you guys. Keep rockin!
Do you realize how many songs use the name Susan or variations on the name?! Susan (Buckinghams) Susan's House (Eels) Susan (Exit) Suzanne (Leonard Cohen) Susie Q - (Dale Hawkins and practically reinvented version by John Fogerty/Creedence) Oh, Susannah (Stephen Foster) Sweet Susanna (Clint West) Susanna (The Art Company) If You Knew Susie (DeSylva/Meyer) A Boy Named Sue (written by Shel Silverstein sung by the late great Johnny Cash Don't Call Me Susan
Are you referring to Jimmy Webb or James Hovey who wrote this song as well as Don't You Care, Kind of a Drag etc.? The Susan in this song was a Chicago playboy bunny. But those behind the scenes know she was a prostitute.
hey! I live in Rapid where it was filmed and I also know the original....this was so much more fun and totally rocked. Thanks from all of us in the Black Hills and Susan you rock
I like the "chaos" part of the song -- I always thot the video for this song should have a potential fistfight, with the whole group gettin together and doing the Bop Bop Bop Bop part
My wife is a Susan as well and this song really takes me back when we were young & fancy
free.38 years later still fill young & fancy free. Thanks for the memories.

Don't forget Jimmy Webb's obsession with Susan. He wrote just about ALL his early love songs about her. I think they even married, eventually.

Are you referring to Jimmy Webb or James Hovey who wrote this song as well as Don't You Care, Kind of a Drag etc.? The Susan in this song was a Chicago playboy bunny. But those behind the scenes know she was a prostitute.

Jimmy Webb, who wrote "Galveston," "Up, Up and Away," "MacArthur Park," and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix."

I like the "chaos" part of the song -- I always thot the video for this song should have a potential fistfight, with the whole group gettin together and doing the Bop Bop Bop Bop part
Great fun, guys!
