  • I just made a video with this incredible song at /watch?v=rlHpaypcQrw . Hope you like it!

  • Thank Good I grew up with this and countless other

  • Each Generation believes that their era is the best. But I think most of the 21st century music is all visual lacking any real substance or musicians (voice or instrumental). Too many copy and bite evryone else...and its OK with them...Because they get the fame early and the money large.

  • The lyrics in this song are really special, anyone know who wrote them? i assume clinton but dont know.

  • long live Garry Shider!

  • Hey guys! FYI this is Garry Shider playing the guitar lead on this song!! My dad...Not Eddie Hazel!

  • @GShiderHarryGreen Your father is GOD!! I Love her work in this song!

  • @GShiderHarryGreen Your Dad was a wonderful person, he is loved and missed by all Funkateers.

  • A song that makes me wish I did drugs. I am sober since October of 09, but I would really like one day to take acid, as I never have, and listen to this. Dammit. Anyone who has, please report back to me what it was like! Thanks.

  • @glortw It's worth taking it at least once man crazy hella awesome experience you really hear colors and see sounds it intense

  • now i know how to love god, ty for uploading

  • @garthmillersienkiewi Obviously Eddie Hazel ! Or maybe Hendrix reincarned ;) It's Hazel, you can hear his perfect guitar tone, don't you?

  • funkadelic sure know how to make a guitar song. this with maggot brain would be my perfect 2 cd collection

  • God looks for his unfolding in Man. That is the truth of the matter. God is not sitting on a big chair in the sky and expecting you to sing hyms and go to church. This world is the church, love one another and care for each other. That is the truth of it all.

  • thats some heavy shit

  • Amazing song. The melody here is great, and the lyrics is nothing short of amazing.

  • This is my Gospel

  • @rocknrollhoochiekoo1 mine too

  • just like funks all my babys pussy (big J baby)

  • @k16jones Sounds more like George with some effects on his voice than Ray to me.

  • this is a ill piece I.S.L.A.M.

  • "be careful of the seeds you plant in the garden of your mind".............never a more true word spoken.....

  • I hope bianca likes this...

  • gonna need new britches after hearing this

  • Great shit. Great name. So true.

  • this is everything...

  • This is as real as it gets.

  • The music of Funkadelic is timeless. The intro solo is another of Eddie's best. Good Thoughts/Bad Thoughts has always been one of my particular favorites.

  • @funkedbyinjection

    Eddie is on the guitar?

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Yes. He came back in 1974 and wrote and performed on most of the songs. This is his masterpiece before Game Dames & Guitar Thangs.

  • Do you think you can post this entire song. The end of this one is not complete. Thanks. Love this song. Thanks in advance. Couple of jars of Mickey's and twist up a big fat one to this..

  • Damn...This is truly Beautiful. Man where did this go. Nothing today is even close to this music of way back when, when music was real...

  • Y is the end chopped off? Blasphemy. Please post ENTIRE song.

  • damn Eddie Hazel is the sh!t

thank The Goddess Oya for Funkadelic, they made some timeless music

  • This tune is just unreal...

  • I remember 20 years ago when i played this song my mom came into my room and said "I don't know what you are listening to but its really good". My mom's favorite artists were Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand but even she recognized beautiful music. Completely true story. A mom born in middle America listening to Funkadelic.

  • Eddie was and will always be the "King Funkadelic". One of the great players and THE best from the P-Funk Guitar Army!!!

  • I had always loved this band in particular this album! Thanks for posting!...

  • without a doubt the best album they ever did. This song is my favorite Funkadelic song. To me Funkadelic is a rock band with a ton of soul. Their music is completely underated. Their music should be on mainstream rock formats but as*holes that control programming think zappa, funkadelic, and the dixie dregs dont fit their format. What a shame cause they all have produced some amazing music.

  • totally agree

  • Si il y a bien un type qui égale Jimi Hendrix, c'est Eddie Hazel. Le même toucher, la même maitrise des effets...

  • I've heard that the words recited are taken from the book 'As a man thinketh' by James Allen.

  • i don't know about this cut, but i'm certain the lyrics for 'presence of a brain' came from that book.

  • This is true. I highly recommend both this song and the book. Mind expanding...

  • Moonjungle, it is certainly thought that the lyrics are loosely based on this book. However, Allen essay title, published in early 1900's, is influenced by a verse from the Bible in the Book of Proverbs- chapter 23 verse 7- As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Needless to say, the line "Free your ass and your mind will follow" was not part of that verse or essay.

  • Back in 1974 a friend and I skipped school and went to recordland at the westwood mall and we both bought "Standing on the verge of getting it on" my friends lp was missing "Good thoughts/bad thoughts" some kind of mfg goof......he was bummed out......I luv the song.....deep meaning.....I wonder how Eddie got that under water sound efx on his guitar track? I'm a old Funkadelic fan....but stopped buying their lp's when Eddie was not on the albums anymore.

  • It's called a wah and a delay.

  • this song came about from a near death experience I had. The lyrics are pretty much what i was "told" while i was dead. eddie hazel was a friend of mine, so i told him about it. he listened well--and now you can learn what i did. rip eddie.
