  • Drags on a lot with slow internet!! I only watched first minute and have it a try. I didn't have the leather glove and I've sliced my thumb completely off!!!

  • Thank you for this video.

  • How about a screw back, what tools does one need to remove that type of back and do I have to remove the watch band to remove the back?

  • This video is cool :]

  • This video is cool :]

  • This video is cool :]

  • I love it! Youre awesome :)

  • Thanks for the info, A personal note: Do not use a 1/4" wood chisel to remove the back, it works but you will end up getting blood inside the watch.

  • Thanks, great video - very helpful!

  • This video made short. Pop open the back and put a new battery in.

  • You forgot to mention the item number of this video...

  • Swiss army knife will work 2

  • The first 8 seconds of the video are most worthy to watch.. Cute girl! :)

  • THIS HELPED ME!

    Now,

If only I had a battery to replace my old ones...

  • I was hoping this video would help with my Timex Expedition watch. The problem I have is with putting the watch back on again. No matter how hard I pressed, it would not go back on. I kept realligning it, and checking every possible problem. It was simply too tight. I finally got it back on with a metal vice, but by then, the gears in the watch were ruined - my watch was ruined.

  • @theonlyred4 sue them lol u live in america get them put on judge judy

  • Does every household owns a knife tool like that? *facepalm...*

  • this video is a godsend. I just fixed my watch!

  • facepalm....

  • sorted

  • All you need is a screwdriver and a hammer. Brute force wins every time!

  • @kurdysj haha

  • @kurdysj swiss army knife will work 2

  • Just use a knife if its not a million dollar watch. You dont have to buy an opener

  • omg get to the fucking point.

  • Wow, quite simple and you can save over $5.00 or more if you do it yourself but, can this be done in any watch? I notice that the one she uses didn't seem to be expensive thus, If you ruin the watch it won't be a great loss. In the other hand, if you do the same in a watch that is expensive you are going to ruin your watch to save a few bucks. Is this method advisable for just all watches?

  • thanks for the vid

  • omg that is the most whack ass watch ive seen in my life.....

  • Comment removed

  • BTW, I have the orange watch case remover tool and can't open my TokyoFlash Negative watch.....any ideas....I've already cut my finger !!

  • Hey Sarah....you're hot !

  • this was very very helpful ty

  • I have opened my watches lots of times. Now I opened my wife's Bulova, changed the battery and can't close it back. I applied a lot of force down with my fingers and nothing.

    Any advice?

  • @chief7602 It's probably the type that needs a press to get it back on. You can improvise the same thing with a vice, but you'd need to make a jig so you don't put pressure on the crystal.

My honest advice to you would be to take it to a watchmaker and ask them to put the back on for you. A good one probably won't charge you anything.

  • @chief7602 Most Bulovas are quite expensive due to their durability and quality. They usually outlive their owners. I owned 3 of them, thus the reason I would be a little concern to do it myself.

  • Thanks, this video finally gave me the courage to attempt to pry the back of my favourite watch off... No watch stores I've been to have been helpful at all.

Did it with nail clippers (I turned to them ONLY because I figured that if the stupid backing wasn't going to come off with those, it was a lost case), and was surprised (and so scared of scratching it), but the crazy method worked!! Just had to give it some OOMPH!

After four years of waiting, my watch is finally alive xD

  • Thanks, always wanted to know how they do that!

  • No, these instructions do not apply to a waterproof watch.

  • will the watch still be waterproof

  • I just received my battery replacement tool set, but I'd like to suggest that the watch be cleaned between the back and the case 1st. Less chance to brush dirt into the open watch later. Video shows it being cleaned after opening, if I am not wrong.

  • This does not work!

  • @BrianFalconsFan29 Wow, really? You bought an item out of the case and didn't check it? And then you result to racist name calling, blaming the cashier? Sometimes I feel sorry for people like you. Anyway, enjoy buying things at Walmart. :)

  • how do I replace the battery on Casio SPF-60 1aver.great thanks

  • how do I replace the battery on Casio SPF-60 1aver.great thanks

  • It's funny how the voice randomly changes.

  • THIS LADY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS DOING!!!

  • @JIMBOND27 Her instructions are general, and work perfectly well on that particular watch. Please post your video JIMBOND27. Thanks.

  • Greetings, I3MTA3I. Do not try to pry off this watch back - this type of back requires a tool to UNSCREW the back off the watch case. If you atempt to pry this off, it will ruin the back, and ruin your watch! Hope this helps!

  • my watch back doesn't have an "indent" , but it has 6 notches on the back plate. How do you lift this up as I cant get a blade under the back plate?

  • @l3MTA3l Fossil watches use a screw on back. You can try to get that off with a needle nose pliers but you can buy the RIGHT tool on the internet for $6 or so.

  • thank you so much... i didnt see the spring arm in mine

  • excuse me ma'am but you take awhile to get to the point....i had to skip through some parts.

  • where do you buy these supplies?

  • thank you

  • Thanks, this is very helpful!

  • cant hear it. Put in some subtitles...

  • you take way to much time, especially for a 10$ watch

  • Thanks a lot for this very detailed video.

  • I'd rather pay someone who has the proper tools to do the job. But this is very informative.

  • if you hurt yourself, you can just buy band aids... item number WA284

    :D

  • hahah That was the only thing she missed, but I'm sure they sell it too xD

  • LOL

  • how do you put the back on. i know she shows you how but i just cant get it back on its not the same watch its a ASPEN 8008 and you have to put the back on lined up but it does not go down and i am using all my force on it too.

  • @MrZokked did you manage to put the back on?? I'm having the same problem now and I have a very expensive watch so I'm freaking out!! please help me!!

  • dont know why but watching this makes me feel very relaxed and comfortable.

  • @howeverclever lol really that is weird but then again we all have different things that relax us

  • Let me implore all of you to NOT try and open your watches unless you're alright with voiding the warranty. I work for Fossil Inc. in a store and people who do not know how to change watch batteries should NEVER change them alone. If you don't have a Fossil near you please take them to a jeweler. This is important.

  • @Greenebean614 I have a Fossil watch that I took to a jeweler for battery replacement. When I got home, I noticed a bunch deep scratch marks along the edges on 2 opposite ends of the back of the watch where the person tried to pry off the case back. As a result, verdigris sometimes forms in the scratches that are located in the non-stainless steel edge (I have to remove the verdigris with a soft cloth). I'm mad at myself for not examining the watch before paying and leaving the jewelry store.

  • You should NOT use the fiberglass "scratch brush" you refer to on any polished surface or when the movement is in the watch. It will create a brushed finish on polished surfaces and will ruin a caseback like the one you're using. The fiberglass will break off small bits and get into the movement.

  • I'm having a hell of a time getting the back back on:'(

  • How do you remove the tight bracket that holds the battery down once you take the back off? The watch you show does not have it but my casio does. Thanks.

  • Very good... Just one problem. The "face" of the watch, is actually a mineral crystal or "x-tal" as we call it. This is either glass, mineral, or plastic... The "Quartz" is not on the face. It is used to regulate the frequencies IN the watch... not the outside.

  • I found this video very helpful. Thank you.

  • hahaha comment under me lmao

  • The idea of using a scratchbrush on a case when the movement in place is crazy.

there is a high risk that very fine fibreglass bristles could end up in the movement jamming the train wheels, rendering this sealed Hattori PC21 movement useless.

  • sell it girl

  • Hello great video! I need you input.. before I see this video I did change a battery with a stain steel metal tweezer and it stops until today. Now I see your guide video and I would like to know if you know any possibility to save my watch? best regards.

  • if u guys are replacing batteries make sure use BRAND NAME don't use generic CHINESE batteries they last only 2 weeks and go over the same thing again.

most repair shops use CHINESE batteries stay away from them they don't last. if you return it and say hey it didnt last they'll blame that your watch is broken not the battery

    Scums!

  • How else will people learn? I'm sure master watch makers had were'nt masters when they started. BTW, to all the newbies that want try this, take care not to warp the watch-back when prying it off because once its warped you're screwed. You will never be able to properly reinstall it.

  • @strumpeteer i think i warped my watch back now when i reinstall it when i push the buttons it doesn't work

  • @Cutlerylover7 Yikes. Take it to a reputable watch repair if you think your watch is worth fixing. Don't take a chance on making things worse by trying to unwarp the watch-back with your fingers. Goodluck

  • The video was good and informative, but I loved the ring on youe right hand more, my girlfriend would love to have it. LOL

  • My problem is my watch has no indent on the back to place the tool into. The back is put into the case REAL TIGHT. Was looking for instruction removing difficult battery.

  • something about this video was mesmerizing
