This game plays very well on emotions with its use of music, setting as well as character and story development. It is very moving no doubt, It's sad, I think it's probably just as sad as Braid which was probably one of the saddest games I've seen. But did I cry? No, definitely moving though and definitely makes you think how choices affect us and how we affect choices.

Like others are saying, I think the story is very tragic if you choose at the end to go back to the way things were. It would result in a never-ending cycle of cataclysm. I just imagined the main character performing these tasks for the hundred thousandth time in a terrible time loop that would never end.

But you're right. While it looks like an ending, restarting the loop in a sense continues the game; leaving it all behind is the true ending.

in my opinion if you stopped the bastion it would had happened again when i replayed it i noticed that the first line the stranger said at starting the game was the very last of the "hero" ending so in my opinion the evacuation is really the tru hero ending

IMO. Up there with the giants like Final Fantasy franchise and the giants have impossible budget compared to Bastion.

Now I think about it... There's very few soundtrack that's memorable to me when it comes to western games... Hopefully future game developers will follow Bastion's example and learn the importance of having great music in their games.

Bastion is a work of art. It is literally the best game I've ever played. Because it wasn't a game, it was a story. You didn't play it, you experienced it. It was beautiful. I felt like I was given a brief glimpse into the lives of a broken and confused band of survivors. In the end I felt like had bonded with them all in a such a way; words can't describe.
