Thanks for posting this, but I believe that your description of this video mistakenly labels British Gen David Richards as Canadian - he is not, but was the commander of ISAF forces in southern Afghanistan for parts of 2006-7. Just a correction in case anybody was wondering why his uniform had a different pattern (or why he has a British accent).

Well call the big guns in when ever we're encountering resistance, not to blow the fuck out of everything we see. Use some common sence, and immagine what you'd be doing in a combat situation. Would you blow the fuck out of a village, or send troops in?

Troops on foot are not the only or best options. Having troops in light armored tracks with mortars and observation/attack aircraft overhead gives options to kill rebels before they can reach the village and flush them out behind superior but POINT firepower and armor protection, like the smart Dutch do
