@lezeus This isn't really true, ufc has a lot of international fighters. Bj and lezner may be american but all the other weight class champs are foreighners: gsp - canadian, silva - brazilian, machida - brazilian.

Anyway Pride was a million times better for other reasons, like production value for one.

Comparing pride to ufc is like comparing apples with oranges. UFC fans just want to see blood, the Pride fans were educated in the sport of MMA, therefor able to enjoy all aspects, including the slower parts "sanding or ground chess matches"

With that being said, Pride was trying to please there fans by having this epic spectacle of grandeur. UFC on the other hand also a great organization aims to please the fans with "hot chicks, beer, and blood." It is what is it, dont cry about either, just be happy we still have some good MMA to watch, especially now that DREAM is up and running, DREAM being like the new era of PRIDE.

i have the the actual DVD of Pride 33, what i meant was it only got to the 30s. Bushido was a series for the lighter weight classes welterweight and lightweight and for up and coming fighters

and by the way bushido has some of the most exciting fights but theres only like 10,000-20,000 people max at an event so the crowd isnt as exciting or loud.

Dude, PRIDE BUSHIDO 9 is hands down the greatest MMA show ever, it was amazing and the crowd were just as loud as they were for Shockwave 2002 when there were 92,000 people in atendance.......UFC is just about fighting and money, PRIDE FC is all about respect, making the fighters feel like true gladiator's, honor and of course, pride.

1. PRIDE Bushido 9

2. PRIDE Critical Countdown 2005

3. PRIDE 10

4. PRIDE Critical Countdown 2004

5. PRIDE Grand Prix 2003 (both shows)

I forgot about PRIDE 33, it IS the best US MMA event ever as UFC just pretty much sucks, they are all just about the cash....Shockwave 2005 is also in my top 10 and so is Bushido 7 and Bushido 8!!!

What PrideFC achieved in a short period was really something special! just look at the production values, arena, fans, quality of participants etc. For a sport(MMA) that's considered still in its infancy, they set the standard extremely high. These events compete with anything seen in any other sport; there is a worldcup/superbowl quality to them that hasn't been seen since. It's a shame what the restrictions in the US & ufc have done to the sport. ufc is NOT MMA!
