In fact, recently I was approached by local police while sitting in a public parking lot just enjoying the nice weather. Had the windows down listening to music and three cops pull up and demand this, that and whatever else. Then he sees the camera and outright asks if I'm video-recording him, to which I said "yes I am". Oddly the police encounter ended then and there and they immediately left the area. Douchebags.

In the country as a whole cops may rape 100 people in a year, yet they arrest and serve justice for thousands. that is what I call a net positive. He didn't hesitate. He had the gun barrel against my stomach and I could see the hammer start to move. I placed a shotgun barrel in front of his eyes and told him to go for it. He was an excaped murderer, who had killed a man with a shotgun. He had nothing to lose. He was doing time in prison, when he escaped.
When I looked into his eyes, believe me, he was going to kill me. Fortunately HE decided not to have his head blown off. We took him back to jail.

Who otherwise, given normal living conditions, would be ordinary citizens. But most people who have to think about shooting someone will, generally, not do it.
