These two clueless types spend their time on psycho-babble - obviously didn't do their homework on Atwater or the history of the political campaigns.

The book Bad Boy: The Life And Politics Of Lee Atwater - is far more detailled and accurate than this film. The book clearly shows how Atwater (love him or hate him) raised campaigning to an art form - Obama used many of his voter-analysis and messaging techniques quite effectively against the Republicans.

Too bad Atwater didn't live longer.

I actually thought l Rove took the torch from Atwater, and not only ran Bush's campaign's but also took Atwater's media manipulation to a higher level. Like planting that gay male prostitute to lob softballs at the Press briefings, selective information highlighted after 9/11 and especcially in the damage control after Iraq. Obama simply is a skilled politician and will throw elbows with the best of them. McCain played the race card, fear card and had Palin do a lot of the dirty work. FAIL

I love the tie ins to McCain. Mcain actually held back on Obama...they could have slammed Obama for numerous episodes in his past that someone like Rove or Atwater would have thrown out like a dagger into the heart of Obama's campaign, and McCain held back...like a Dukakis. Please folks, don't be blinded by your politics here. Dirty tricks aren't only left to Republicans... The DNC and the mainstream media have plenty of dirty tricksters too.

Other than the fact that McCain didn't want Rev. Wright revisited down the stretch - what kind of daggers didn't the RNC throw? Rove was the eminence grise behind the scenes for McCain - there is no way he held anything back. You don't have to be blinded by politics to recognize that Republicans have been ruthless political sociopaths and gotten themselves elected to the White House on nothing but smears, lies and fearmongering for the last quarter century. Thank God it didn't work this time.
