is there any way someone can explain to me (via PM possibly?) what components I'll need to setup APRS on my Yaesu FT-880R mobile rig? What kinds of things do I need to remember when I use APRS? It's main purpose will be for reporting my location and tracking others. Thanks everybody!

garmin nuvi 350, tracker 2 and a cheap vhf radio like a gp300 or gm300 don't have your expensive ham radio doing this mundane task unless you have more money than sense

As far as VHF/UHF is concerned, I haven't noticed anything significant. At least in my environment, external QRMs are more problematic than one coming from my car. It could be whole different story for HF, though.

Actually Tommy, I'm someone with an opinion. Many hams are inarticulate, uneducated and poor communicators. This video is evidence of that. Indeed most hams are poor communicators.

The guy who posted this shows nothing to anyone seriously interested in the radio.

If you find it useful, then indeed you have low standards. That too is commonon the web.

Strive to raise the bar Tommy. The uneducated masses have no future. Step up Tommy. You can get there!
