  • morgan freeman is an epic narrator

  • @forerunner6 then wouldn't hell be a place of lack of love? No matter how you label hell or don't, it's real

  • Maybe we don't have to wait to find that out. Maybe that is the answer to this life, to die before we die. You don't have to wait, you can see all of these things through meditation. If we ALL knew this wisdom, life for all of us, would surely change. And i know your name isn't Shirley.

  • If you want to stay with God though you need to accept God and you can only get to the Father through His son Jesus. May God bless whoever heeds this warning.

  • Was he dead or was it deterioration of the brain?

  • The questions is why doesn't it happen to EVERYONE who is on the brink of death?

  • Amazing experience. Different to the heaven and hell NEDs I have heard.

  • I don't believe in heaven and hell. simply because there is no good and evil. only love and lack of love. In the end I think we all return to that love. haha, trippy I know

  • I came close to drowning many years ago and I clearly remember my life starting to flash in my mind. It was like a old film reel running at high speed. I then made a instant decision that I did not want to drown and by a miracle I was able to reach the surface and get a breath. I now know the saying, your life flashes in front of you at the time of death.

  • @TheEgertak Exactly what happened to me, word by word

  • Is that Morgan Freeman's voice?

  • @mohammad112388 I was wondering the exact same thing!

  • I wish i could know what happens. I don't want to see blackness when i die. ... i don't what that. ..

  • I like loving god, and Loving Jesus, my life is peaceful because of it, Nothing else matters, I personally need god, in order to be at peace. the hope that he gives me, allows me to live knowing I'll be alright.

  • @MattLaxen No, not necessarily, nor am I denying "realms" that we've never even thought of before (besides ones that look like things we recognize here, like clothed people and Jesus ect). I have no knowledge of other worlds or realms so I'm just going off what I know here. I know that when someone's brain is effected, THEY are affected as a person. I'm just trying to come up with a tangible explanation.

  • I'm glad Morgan Freeman is the narrator.

  • If a dying brain, while scrambling to regroup and regain control leaves behind some form of disorder in the area of the brain dealing with memory, perhaps later the brain naturally attempts to make sense of it and fills in certain gaps automatically.Once this happens a person could think that they remember things that never actually happened. When we're unconscious we have little knowledge of time anyway.I might wake at 6am thinking I just had a dream that I actually had at 3am.

  • anything narrated by morgan freeman cant be that bad... thumbs up !

  • An interesting aspect to this that science can't even pin point what part of the brain memory comes from or is stored. So when someone has an NDE and is virtually brain dead, how is the patient recalling the complex events when the brain has no function? If the brain was unable to take the information in and store it, how and where was it stored? I say the soul.

  • JESUS FORGIVE US. PLEASE MOVE YOUR HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN US. MAY WE BECOME A NEW CREATURE IN YOUR HOLY NAME JESUS CHRIST. WE NEED YOU JESUS. SAVE OUR SOULS.

  • @bobsbait1234 From what I understand, he already did.

  • The problem with our society is that every seems to ignore the amazing ability of love and put all their problems and ideas above everything else.

  • The brain is flooded with DMT when you die, the same chemical responsible for dreaming and that can be synthesized and be taken as an hallucinogenic. It produces vivid visions and can result in loss of ego, out of body experiences and communication with spirits. Does this mean that consciousness exists outside the body? Who knows. At the least, these experiences demonstrate the power of the brain in providing emotional comfort to a dying individual. Why can't the body be fantastic?

  • @teecomb DMT was used an anesthetics for a short period of time. Nobody who used it reported meeting God.

  • @KnoxSUX In order for DMT to be active orally it needs to be mixed with an MAOI inhibitor. In shamanic cultures DMT and MAOI containing plants are brewed into a medicine called Ayahuasca. When you drink ayahuasca you communicate with the spirits of the plants that are mixed into the brew, and they heal you of addiction and allow you to purge your sins. If you believe in God, you meet him/her, and you often experience rebirth. There are some documentaries online if you look hard enough :)

  • @teecomb In case you can't comprehend what I said, it was in anesthetics. Anesthetics are injected into the blood stream where it cycles around and reaches the brain and all. So your argument is negated.

  • @KnoxSUX anesthetics are applied through various methods and that has nothing to do with my argument. my point was that DMT in conjunction with other factors has been proven to lead to a hallucinations/profound euphoria that make up these kinds of spiritual experiences. this is a fact, and you can research it at your own leisure. If you think massive amounts of DMT becoming active in the brain the moment these NDE's are experienced is a mere coincidence then we can agree to disagree :)

  • @teecomb But one cannot experience "anything" if there is zero brain function, which many NDE cases have been medically recorded to have. Read up on these NDEs where the body and brain were at 50 degrees, the blood removed from the brain and yet a patient was able to describe what was going on in the OR, what specific tools were used, who went in and out of the room, etc., before moving into the light and experiencing the classic NDE. DMT can't account for that.

  • @alowl Why not??? Do you understand how DMT affects consciousness? What is your alternative to DMT causing these visions... God? I am not refuting any claims to God here or consciousness beyond the body, I am just saying that the visions described in this video are incredibly similar to an ayahuasca experience, and that the chemicals released in the brain near death and when drinking that medicine are scientifically known to be the same. There is a reason DMT is known as "the spirit molecule"!

  • @teecomb

perhaps DMT is a chemical corollary to this process - on this the following presentation might be of some interest, from Hameroff, who is interviewed in this video: /watch?v=LXFFbxoHp3s

Keep in mind that his brain degenerated, however, and that there was vastly superior consciousness to normal awareness. So consider the possibility that with the negation of normal conscious processes, a super energy or super-coherence arises.

  • @teecomb Why not?? Because the brain is dead! Not a dying brain, a dead brain. There is zero brain function in many reported "near" death experiences. Chemicals do not affect the brain when there is no brain function to speak of. Medically there is no explanation for viewing a room or person accurately while brain dead. The alternative to the medical theory of chemical induced hallucinations or oxygen deprivation is obviously a spiritual theory considering the physical body is dead.

  • @screechslater What is there to suggest that these memories are not from the dying brain? If there is no brain activity, no memories are being formed, so a logical hypothesis could be that NDE are actually memories from the last time the brain had function (the moment it was flooded with DMT). I am not trying to refute a non-physical universe, I just think it is ridiculous to ignore such a huge correlation and think DMT is the vehicle to the spirit world.

  • @screechslater teecomb is just an atheist troll. Don't feed him. He won't listen to you.

  • @KnoxSUX U are the wisest person I have seen all day lol

  • @Vordakis Haha thank you!

  • @screechslater but it is not at all impossible that at a deeper level of the brain some activity can occur, and thus neuro physiologically, visions occur.

  • @Crusherdub

Death is the ETERNAL mystery. But I prefer Einsteins thoughts on the matter. Energy never dies it merely transforms. There is energy in our bodies in the form of electricity. Could this electrical energy be part of our essence? It doesn't die it merely transforms. Just accept that you don't know everything and keep your mind open to the possibility that these things may be real. Why do we spend so much time fearing death when there is nothing we can do about it?

  • @teecomb Pretty much what @alowl said. Again back to the anesthesia, nobody described what instruments were used and out of body experiences. If you think it's pure coincidence then you should do some research of your own.

  • @KnoxSUX It's all part of living in the body. Enjoy!

  • @teecomb I don't care what it's flooded with, if the EEG is zero and the brain stem has no function, the brain cannot have hallucinations or do complex thinking, which occurs in NDEs. So, where is it coming from? Use your brain to figure it out, that's what it's for.

  • @alowl The majority of NDE's come from clinical death(heart stops) and not biological(brain death) death. It takes a little while for the brain to completely die. The heart stopping is not complete death. The mind is very powerful and some of these are real. Just not most of them. According to biblical texts, Lazarus was dead and had no awareness at all. He just came back to life by divine resurrection. Interesting stuff no doubt.

  • @alowl There have been studies that suggest massive amounts of DMT are released from the pineal gland prior to death and in NDE. I apologize for saying "when you die", it is right before you die that DMT floods the brain, not after there ceases to be brain activity. The brain is still functioning and capable of complex activity.

  • 5:55 unconditional love is the key here!

  • when i had an anxiety attack everything became really bright.

  • Cool story bro.But I can see the same things after I smoke pot....Am I paranormal too?Naaaah.Just stoned.

  • you can know anything in the universe by intuition

  • 0:55 wearing that bowtie LIKE A BOSS.......oh did I miss the point entirely? I don't care.

  • He was just tripping balls on DMT, give me a break.

  • I heard a cardiologist who died and came back to tell his story of an after life. I heard from fire men police nurses and people from all walks of liffe speak of such things. I said it before I will say it again chemical reaction my ass

  • @ghosttrain2066 I've known two people who had NDEs. Solid people, not given to silliness. They are very matter of fact about their experiences. I believe them.

  • @DrGaryGreen I was making a point to one atheist is that science can not prove or disprove the after life.I do have respect for science and medication.I just get tired of athiest screaming it my face. Like you said about giving in to sillyness right away. I was at a friends house when I walked in they where sitting there looking shocked they heard a phone ring it sounded old fashion phone.I asked if it where just a cell phone they said "no!" I did not give in right away. I belive

  • @DrGaryGreen Most people when they die and come back you can see the change in them deeply and profoundly. Most people do not just jump to it.Like I said of the phone I ask other possiblities they told me look this is the only house near by. They told me other strange things occur in it. I like the thought and possibilty that this world has more to it than man can understand.

  • @ghosttrain2066 how is citing different types of people a reputable argument against it? They are all human, and all contain dimethyltryptamine in their brains, it could just as easily be that chemical flooding their brain than them actually surviving death in a non-physical form.

    Just sayin'..

  • @Crusherdub I was talking about people who are not subjected to running away right away a cop would srcutinize what he whitnessed. Not them necessarley dying but seeing it first hand. Just like the woman who knew what happened down the hall even though she was not in her body.and her body was no where near. Man dose not want to belive because then he is not incharge any more in the after life.

  • @Crusherdub Please just listen to this man. He is a neuroscientist I think if anyone was going to scrutinise the experience he would and he clearly believes in the afterlife. Please accept Jesus as your saviour as He is the only one who can save your soul from hell...yes really. Go to roseofjesus.co.uk there is a prayer on there you can pray in order to be saved. God bless you! :)

  • @shellz641 How about you take off your blinders, k thanks.

  • "Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are part of nature and therefore part of the mystery that we are trying to solve." --Max Planck - Founder of quantum theory

  • Comment removed

  • @AstralEtheric Good job, taking something from quantum mechanics and pretending it has something to do with NDE's so that you can sound intelligent to uneducated retards. Just to be clear, he was talking about the double slit experiment and how a photon acts completely different when we observe it. Nothing to do with NDE's, so get real.

  • Science will never be able to prove because you have to have faith. Faith isn't explanation. To any atheists out there, please believe in something, anything. Let love be your religion.

  • do a bong hit of DMT, and you will open your eyes. just a suggestion*

  • Brain function ceases to exist...so how can someone dismiss this as the brain releasing chemicals causing people to see things.

  • @wtf66611 Because scientist will come up with ANY reason to dismiss the facts that there is in fact a GOD/ Jesus. They think EVERYTHING can be explain by science...which is obviously not true

  • Dr. Michael Newton has a lovely series of books called Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls.

He does hundreds of different case studies on subjects hypnotized in regression therapy and all of them have an almost exact correlation with each other, although each subject explains and describes it in a different perspective, they all sound very similar. These cases with NDE's also correlate exactly with what people describe in past death lives when going through regression hypnosis, check it out!

  • It's chemicals for crying out loud. For those people saying that they know it was god because they could feel it? Let me just say that I have woke from dreams that I thought were real, then I shake it off and, realize that the boogyman wasn't trying to get me from under the bed.

  • @WorldsJungleGym People come back to life remembering every last detail while their brain was getting no oxygen. U can't explain this with dmt

  • I want to be met by Elvis singing blue hawaii...

  • Such a shame these scientist never heard of ayauhasca...

  • It's the lack of oxygen and the dmt combined that does this.

  • People have heard their own doctor declair them dead and described every thing going on including whats going on down the hall way.Chemical reaction my ass!

  • @ghosttrain2066 THANK YOU! You hit the nail right on the head. It's NO WAY someone "hallucinating" could have told someone in a diffrent room WORD FOR WORD what they were saying

  • @AlanaPower111 It is said that we are given limited sense in this world. When we die the higher state is returned to us. With limited sense we canot fully understand the unlimited. It is like trying to fly to the moon in a bi plane.

  • @ghosttrain2066 Yes chemical reaction, I know the uneducated scum of this world like you aren't really sure what that even means, but you should stop pretending to yourself about such crap and go get an education. Your lack of education is proven by the fact that you think that intelligent people say it's just a chemical reaction, when it's infact alot more complicated.

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo Okay, so would you and your intelligent mind please explain to everyone how that is possible through the highly complicated process of "chemical reaction" please? You can't, I don't think any scientist can give a straight, forward and completely factual explanation to that. Maybe in the future we will either know this for sure to be either a dying brain function, or something completely different from that. Nobody knows for sure as of today.

  • @spirrisilver21 When your heart stops, you're clinically dead, the brain however is still alive, the longer it's alive like that the more oxygen depraved it gets and the more it gets confused and starts to mess up and hallucinate, that is fact, and it's been known for a very long time. Every NDe can be explained. Out of body? Your proprioception becomes confused, which results in you thinking your somewhere else in the room, combined with your imagination / hallucinations, it feels real.

  • @spirrisilver21 Life flashing before your eyes? That is your brain looking for a way to escape death, it is trying to remember a situation like the one your in, to see how you dealt with it then. Seeing a light? Seeing heaven? Seeing hell? That's due to either your religion, and the fact that the religious need to know it exists otherwise their life means nothing, or just that you have heard about "the light at the end of the tunnel" so many times that you expect to see something like that.

  • @spirrisilver21 Seeing dead relatives? Again, after hearing about the afterlife so much through life in books, the internet movies, combined with the loss of a loved one that you would do anything to see again, when you start hallucinating and your brain is dying, your loved ones are more than likely what you will think about. And it looks like you can't read, I said it wasn't just a chemical reaction. It's lots of things that cause an NDE.

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo But the brain is not dying, it's dead. After the heart stops, the last part of the brain to stop showing electrical activity follows in about 10 seconds. I am unable to explain meeting a deceased sibling that an NDEr was never told about; or how a blind-sense-birth person has vision; or how those that absolutely convinced that nothing follows meets Jesus; or how so many have reported verifiable actions and conversations from another room. Explanation?

  • @fonkdawg No, the brain is not dead, maybe you should do some more research on the matter? When the brain dies, that's it, you're dead. That's basic scientific fact. None of those have ever happened, ever. If somebody had heard a conversation in another room, and they was able to repeat it, it would be everywhere, especially on scientific sites. But it isn't, neither was any of the other stuff. And it's not hard to get somebody to lie for you for attention from TV shows and for magazines.

  • There is plenty of disagreement over what constitutes brain death. But when an engine is not running, it does no work. Most of the reports have been verified by multiple people.

  • @fonkdawg Out of body experiences have even been tested, they out signs up on high cabinets that the patient can't see and they are told to read the sign if they have a out of body experience, has anybody ever being able to tell them what the sign said? Ofcourse not.

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo That is an experiment currently going on. It is a flawed experiment because when people are out-of-body their entire way of thinking is changed. They look at their own dead body, know it is theirs, but feel no attachment to it. If anyone ever looks at one of those signs and reports it, it would just be a weird accident. Blackie, its too easy an out to assume every single person with verifiable events is just lying. That's all ya got?

  • @fonkdawg Nothing anyone who says they had a NDE, says is not verifiable fact. And pretty much all NDE's are explainable by science, when 1 person says they heard a conversation in another room, it's a one off thing, I guarantee the person who said that then did some article for a magazine or was interviewed for TV, or they atleast tried to. And no, they don't act any differently, the whole idea of a NDE is that their consciousness lives on, that would mean they are still themselves during a NDE

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo The verifiable stuff we were discussing is that in the OBE part of the NDE, sometimes the soul travels to a different area and sees and hears what relatives or med staff are doing/saying -- and then when those people here the report, they say, "yes, that is what we were doing and saying". In science, we call that verification. You are in no position to offer me any guarantees regarding the honesty of other people. Consciousness lives, but priorities change.

  • @fonkdawg No priorities do not change, it seems you do not understand what consciousness is. And like I said, that has never happened, it would be huge if it did.

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo It is well documented, kiddo. (No disrespect, but I am getting the feeling that I am arguing with a kid.) I know how science defines "consciousness".

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo Why you believe it would be huge? As far as science is concerned, it is still hearsay. It would not, and does not make a wave in science circles.

  • @fonkdawg You get the idea that you're talking to a kid? That's funny, because I'm not a kid. But I get the idea that I am trying to explain complicated matters to an overweight, middle aged, uneducated, religious American, who doesn't have the intelligence required to comprehend such things. And one look at your channel and you literally say the exact same shit over and over, even when it has never happened, you still call it proof. You even think that murder trials are not based on facts, haha

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo I am not religious. Ya got me on the overweight and middle aged thing. Masters Degree in Science. You need to slow down and think about things a little, but you wont

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo I'm not the one screaming "proof", you are. "It never happened and I guarantee it!" You shouldn't call others uneducated. HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA....serious kid, your funny.

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo Well first off I graduated. But education has nothig to do with it "faith"my guess is that your a spoiled and angery teen by your choice of words and endless arguing. The woman I spoke of was dead at the time of the coversation down the hall. She heard what the doctors said. She asked him so you where wrong declairing me dead Or did my sole traveled pick one you cant have two. She called him out. The nurse said spiritaul things happen all the time in hospital

  • @ghosttrain2066 Yeah, that`s why some people see their dead relatives and are told to go back. Just because they have had a chemical reaction lol.

When will people wake up to this?

  • @latehare1 People see their dead friends and family and you think that is proof? That only proves how fucking stupid and uneducated you are. People see dead relatives all the time in their dreams, they even mistake other people for their relatives, your mind plays tricks on you because you want to see that person so badly. When you know your going to die, who will you think of? Oh family, what a fucking surprise. What's funny is, you think that you know what you're talking about, lol.

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo Nice!

Not sure why you are bothering to watch stuff like this then. That`s the weird thing.

  • @ghosttrain2066

All that should mean to a rational person is that there's much more to learn about how consciousness is generated by the brain. It shouldn't lead us to abandon all we've learned about how the brain electrochemically produces emotions, thoughts, ect. We can see the brain in live action as certain parts are activated when we think or experience emotions. So much points to chemical reactions, yet, some strange shit happens, and you spiritualists run away with it.

  • @itzahazylife Who said any one abandon any thing?Who said any one ran with it? you did stop spindoctoring.I said the woman was no place near her body and knew what was going on in front of her down the hall. Her body was decleared dead. So was the doctor wrong or was her soul walking around? Pick one. Concious dose survive death. It just inhabits an organic organ. Do not call it strange shit to lessen it. Dont come if you dont belive. atheist is bull.

  • Scientist have been studying the pineal gland for many years, until recently it was thought this gland only released (highly hallucinogenic) DMT during the fourth stage of sleep. However recent studies show that DMT may also be realeased in a coma or forced unconciousness i.e. A possible neuro physiological explanation.

  • @thatguru877 Yeah.

  • I seen this guy a couple weeks ago in I Survived..........Beyond and Back on the Bio channel.

  • there is nothing paranormal about these experiences. Instead, near-death experiences are the manifestation of normal brain function gone awry, during a traumatic, and sometimes harmless, event.

many classic NDE symptoms are actually reported by people who were never in danger of dying in the first place. This suggests that the perception that one is near death is traumatic and disturbing enough to cause some of the experiences.

  • The biggest assumption in science today is that Consciousness arises in the brain. Most neuroscientists seem to believe this to the point its become a dogma.

However, an alternative model put forward by Willam James and Henri Bergson and championed today by Stan Grof and Rupert Sheldrake in a growing minority of scientists, is that the brain is a transmitter and Consciousness comes through it. This model explains most of the psi phenomena which the materialist deny. Death is illusion life is.

  • DMT is pumped into the brain in near death experiences to deal with the traumatic state, guys. Look it up.

  • @BioShock55Airsoft I don't think even DMT can imitate what this man is talking about and I've heard lots of stories.

I'm sure he took that into consideration himself being a neuroscientist.

  • Morgan Freeman's voice is creepy.

  • lest we find out now, since there is no later, we are IT now....

  • @bernsten11 How very Zen of you. For the one second my soul was outside of my body, I experienced eternity, it changed my life. Everything I ever experienced I was experiencing, Glorification. In a timeless moment.

  • @shizzleman8 thanks BODY, or buddy or Budda it is still all the same :)

  • Powerful stuff.

    Favorited.

  • Fantastic video!

  • one time i had a near death experience when i was nearly fucked to death by a horse cock, it completely changed my life.

  • @CarlChipSanders "i was nearly fucked to death by a horse cock"

    O_O!!!

  • @JHDIII1987 yea after my colon exploded from the horse semen shooting into me i was floating above my body and then i saw satan, he told me it was too soon and said that i could only come back until i burned down every orphanage in the world

  • @CarlChipSanders Are you sure he never said abortionist.

  • @wallyinwales no thats what Jesus begged me to do. Burning orphanages is more fun YAY SATAN!

  • @secondthes

The origin of Christianity and judaism/Islam and ancient Egypt are all rooted in fertility rites, a good read is John Allegro's work "the sacred mushroom and the cross". The whole religious outfits are replete with white semen coloured penis mushroom hats and the tabernacle itself was a replica of womens reproductive system. It's all there if people read and search.

  • its true, its all solar astrological. sexual and even psycadelics, but that just makes it more interesting!! of course theer are those who would rather be led rather then discover themselves via study of teh world of there own minds

  • @zenithVerrry interstink

it's termed "the big lie" in biblical speak, it's all in the book. churches (36,000 denominations) study what they want to study in regards to pre disposed beliefs. It's common in human thought to pre believe something until the box breaks. Our mind is designed to grasp due to 5 senses dominating our reality. after my amanita NDE I don't believe in anything this world has to offer, nothing. human ego is so vast it's almost as big as the universe itself.

  • @johnscottartist bullshit

  • What that nueroscientist says at the end of this clip is the ultimate truth...we don't know until we experience it. And we WILL experience it. Every single last one of us.

  • CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE FOUNDATION

  • When you have an NDE, all you hear is Morgan Freeman's voice. That's the "wavelength of love/bliss" people talk about.

  • HERE LISTEN : this is what i think ! ok when you hear about people saying they had near death experiences they usually say they saw a bright light, well i think that bright light is you being reborn again as a baby in a hospital ward with bright lights in the room when you first open your eyes :) and anyway how do we know that when we WERE born that we had'nt just died in a previous life ! its complicated and we'll all find out one day...........live long and prosper \ \\//

  • @THEIRONMAN9 You THINK that or you just imagine it could be possible or see it as an interesting possibility?

  • @sweets3000 yes i imagine it could be a possibilty of what happens :)

or something like that... oh you know what i mean :)

  • @THEIRONMAN9 that's a very interesting theory. reincarnation doesn't seem so bad. (:

  • Never believe a man sporting a bow-tie is what I say.

  • The fact remains that when the brain is dead, it is impossible for it to absorb memories. Especially vivid memories that manifest during NDE. People have been able to describe exactly what family members were doing in the waiting room while they were clinically dead 100 yards away. Stories like that are very common and inexplicable. Idk... I believe in God and that we are all here for a reason but I can understand why there are many doubters in the world. Death is intangible for science and fai

  • @risky725 He is in a loss as you put it because he is on the inside looking in, so what he thinks doesn't hold as much weight as someone from the outside. For example, if you are in love with a slut and everyone around you tries to reason with you like "yo bro, she has dogged a lot of guys, you are most likely next" the person in the relationship will reject reason because that is the person involved in the situation and letting emotions overcome rationality.

  • Go into New Age Christ Consciousness and you will find it's a symbological and geometrical manifestation.

  • his brain was probly still producing DMT -- mystery solved

  • @MahoganyTicon That may answer the question of HOW, but it doesn't answer why...

  • @MahoganyTicon People who are blind from birth would be extremely unlikely to report remarkedly similar mind images during NDE's. Can I suggest watching my video on the Soul as the origin & essence of human identity. I examine the evidence from science, philosophy, NDEs and psychic phenomena. Mind/brain/matter is indeed a mystery if mindless matter is the only game in town.

  • @MahoganyTicon That the brain produces DMT at death which causes these things is an unproven hypothesis. Although stated as such by Strassman in his book 'DMT Spirit Molecule' it has now, thanks to hearsay and the gossipy nature of the Internet, acquired the claim that it is a proven fact. It is not. It was originally simply touted as an idea.

  • NDEs are very real. It is interesting that a doctor who studied them now believes what all other experienced. Very cool.

  • @teslic100 Of course NDE's are real but they aren't supernatural. The brain releases massive amounts of DMT as the brain dies and people see all types of insane things. If there is an afterlife then it has to be an objective one, the problem is Christians will see Jesus, Muslims will see the Prophet Muhammed, Buddhists will see Vishnu ect...So it seems people just see whatever figure they were taught about the most, and whatever they believe has the most credibility.

  • @theBartone9119 It poses questions whether NDEs are due to a chemical process or is it really something out of the ordinary. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Though if it were a chemical process, then what is the purpose of life if we live and die and our mind is just matter? Or, why would matter form a mind which can process information? Or, why would there be a necessity for this life if there is a soul? All these questions can be applied for either of the two extremes.

  • @teslic100 The "mind" isn't matter, but the brain is. Kind of like how "sight" isn't matter, but the eyes are. Without eyes there is no sight, and without the brain there is no mind. Multi-celled organisms over time will develop brains to store more information then they previously could have without them (even bacteria can store information). Also what part of the anatomy does the "soul" reside in?

"We don't have bodies; we are bodies.”

  • @teslic100 it is not what you see its what you feel
