I always laugh at these before and after comparisons. Just like in electronic stores for dvd vs. blu-ray the before shot looks like an ep vhs tape. If dvds had that quality they'd never have taken off. Obvious marketing ploy.

See, this is what they should do nowadays instead of blantently remaking Horror Movies remaster them with crisper sound and screen quality. Like they did with "The Exorcist" so that its much more enjoyable to look at instead of screwing us fans and the movie over in the ass and CGI-ing it all to shit with a "modernized" remaking of it.

With this movie I think the least important thing is what the film is about. If you did not like the gorgeous shots that are in the trailer, then I'm afraid this movie is not for you. You would be seeking and spoting lots of plotholes (I didn't notice them 'cause I was totally inmersed in the movie, but I'm sure there are many) and would not enjoy it.

I didn't notice many plotholes. If you mean how the killers look different and what not, that makes sense. But from what I gather, the whole movie is based on the destruction of art during the era of the Nazis, and their hatred towards the bauhaus: an avant-garde art school. Makes sense considering the experimental cinematography and the fact that the school is in Germany. The entire movie is an avant-garde depiction of the death of avant-garde. So metaphorically, this movie's great

Loved watching this movie, the obscurity, the anticipation, the borderline kitsch but bizarre story telling really nails it.

Too bad horror movies nowadays are just...gore-fests, I feel that they're almost too afraid to be obscure/bizarre....
