LookAlikes, I do but I would have to upconvert somr cassette tapes. I've got Hallmark & Sta Sof Fro she did with James Ingram and a radio interview where she sang a few of the jingles. Keep checking with me.

Patti had gastric bypass a few years ago. Her weight was affecting her ability to get around. She looks fabulous! Glad the surgery had no affect on her amazing voice. Truly one of the unsung divas of pop/jazz.

I'm still so startled at the fact that she won the Grammy for this album...was way overdue! I've been listening to Avant Gershwin more and I'm finally beginning to realize what great album it is. It took a while to grow on me in the beginning.

Me too, aprilgloom. Once you know the background and what work went into making it, it makes it more appealing. Nothing wrong with the vocals or the songbook, its just so different you have to let it soak in. By the by, did you catch the innuendos on a couple of the tunes?

When I got the album last spring, I wasn't too happy upon first hearing it. I didn't even play it for the longest time. What I failed to do was capture the cinematic approach she put to into the songs. For example, I thought "Who Cares" was the worst song I ever heard her sang, but after listening to it with a more broader approach, it's definitely become one of my favorites after the Porgy and Bess medley.

Thumbs up on catching the play on words and your re-examining "Who Cares". Patti is genius at capturing her moment in song. She disregards everything she's heard before and Austinize's the hell out of a tune.
