To the guy talking shit about vtec being Eco and not for power there is a few did kinds of vtec ie ivtec lmao some ( like mine in any and all 04 rsx type-s K20a) kick over to the aggressive lobe( this lobe not only holding open longer but much wide too) for both intake and exhaust where as to for some other kinds like on the rsx it just kicks for exhaust not burning much more fuel but still increasing the flow however both the rsx and type s are labeled as ivtec for some reason...

both are great cars me and a buddy did a 40 roll. he has a 05 with bolt ons and i have a stock o5 ap2 whenever we race i pull him not by much but i still do by about a car and a half. Still a rsx-s are nice and pretty fast but i dunno guess it depends on the driver of the s2k. I dont consider a s2000 slow either i personally seen some do highs 13's stock .

AgentStyles is right, the s2000 should have walked all over that RSX. I own an AP1 and have raced some RSX Type-S' before. The K20 motor in those were not very powerful, and if you add the power to weight ratio in then the s2k should have won. Props to that RSX though, had some decent supporting mods and a good tune.
@DemonAway The RSX-S and s2k weight about the same man. The K20 responds way better to bolt-ons than the F motor of the s2k. My buddy has an Ap2 with I/H and I have an 02 RSX-S with I/H/E and reflash(not tune) and we're DEAD even when we race from a dig, 20 mph, and 40 mph rolls. If I upgrade to the full HONDATA and get a tune, I'm sure I got him beat--easy.

So you are going to compare a 90k 2 seat car to a g8 that only loses by 1/2 second to 60 and 1.4 sec in the 1/4 mile and seats 5 comfortably, oh yeah it's a v8 and still gets better fuel mileage? That's crazy. NSX is nice but not worth it.

The NSX is $55,000 more than a G8, and seats you and a friend, and can't be driven in the winter very well. Sure it will out handle and slalom a G8 hands down. G8 + $10,000 (STS turbo @ 8-10 psi, exhaust, intake, mild tune) will get it into the high 10's on stock transmission with some better tires for the drag strip. S2000s are one of the best cars for the track made, it's on a different level than the RSX. They're made by the same company for different purposes.

the fact is, the S2K in this race lost because the RSX has a SHIT tone of work done to it the S2k doesn't. in fact, stock for stock the S2K has more power, but in this situation i'll put money that the RSX in fact has more power thatn the S2k.
It's funny, I see s2k's lose to rsx's a lot...but still some people believe the s2k would win. I believe what I see, and from what I've seen an s2k doesn't have a chance...its a nice car though with the hard top.
The s2k has more hp than a type-s or si but its the gearing ratio in the s2k that makes it suffer when comparing to a type-s or si. the extra 40hp wont even matter.
The RSX in general is a faster car than the S2000. I've raced them in mine and lost each time. Both cars only have basic bolt-ons. You need to upgrade the internals in and get an AEM EMS tune in order to smoke the RSX. It's just a better engineered car, even though the S2000 may look better and faster; just not the case on the road.

Look up the specs. The RSX Type-S has lower gear ratios than the S2000. Just look at any web site. In addition to that, the Acura's weight is ~2700lbs where the s2000's is 2855lb. Lighter car with lower gear ratios, uh, the additional 20 hp isn't going to help the S2000 very much. Since observation agrees with the data, the burden of proof lays in your lap. Until you can act more intelligent, I'm done talking to you...
@IntelEngineer1 you forgot the final gear ratios. the s2k has a 4.74 or something crazy like that. so even though the rsx has better gearing in the trans it self the s2k can still be better for acceleration cause of its final gear.
On the street, I don't think very many people will be even using the final gear....But even then, the power to weight ratio and drag coefficient will probably cause the RSX to still kick ass.

G8 + $10,000 (STS turbo @ 8-10 psi, exhaust, intake, mild tune) will get it into the high 10's on stock transmission with some better tires for the drag strip. Okay first of all something is fucked up with that rsx. My buddy has an s2000 and I know someone with a stock rsx type s and I know for a fact that the rsx with the amount of mods done to it, should have pulled away from the s2k harder than it did. @ScorpiosRevenge1 in a sense it DOES make sense. consider the fact that the two cars are nowhere near the same price range. if money is a non-issue, i'm sure most people would choose the s2k over the rsx, if it is an issue; you can make the rsx faster than the s2k and still have 10k left over ;-)

rsx wasn't heavily modded, it was probaby putting out about as much as the s2k or less. i think it was a fair race. no1 wants to see a stock s2k vs stock rsx race but obviously the s2k is more powerful and unless the driver can't drive, it will win

S2000s are one of the best cars for the track made, it's on a different level than the RSX. They're made by the same company for different purposes.

i raced an s2k in my rsx s and stock for stock it was even...until the race started lol he took me in every gear but after we both put catbac and headers on i did win by a half of a length so the rsx does do better with mods but stock for stock the s2k raped. lol im no pro just sayin...they both badass cars...could be worse it could be a mustang or camaro lol muscle cars are for old dirty bastards.

despite the RSX weighing less, in reality 150lb difference is'nt gonna do squat. think what you want but it isn't, i like both, but given the chance i'll take an S2 any day of the week over an rsx.
the fact is, the S2K in this race lost because the RSX has a SHIT tone of work done to it the S2k doesn't. in fact, stock for stock the S2K has more power, but in this situation i'll put money that the RSX in fact has more power thatn the S2k.

The RSX in general is a faster car than the S2000. I've raced them in mine and lost each time. Both cars only have basic bolt-ons. You need to upgrade the internals in and get an AEM EMS tune in order to smoke the RSX. It's just a better engineered car, even though the S2000 may look better and faster; just not the case on the road.

Look up the specs. The RSX Type-S has lower gear ratios than the S2000. Just look at any web site. In addition to that, the Acura's weight is ~2700lbs where the s2000's is 2855lb. Lighter car with lower gear ratios, uh, the additional 20 hp isn't going to help the S2000 very much. Since observation agrees with the data, the burden of proof lays in your lap. Until you can act more intelligent, I'm done talking to you...

@IntelEngineer1 you forgot the final gear ratios. the s2k has a 4.74 or something crazy like that. so even though the rsx has better gearing in the trans it self the s2k can still be better for acceleration cause of its final gear.
