@rnrdemon its called playing the root notes... meaning she is playing the same exact thing the guitar player is playing. then the bass break down, which I'm positive the guitarist wrote the bassline anyway...is what a young kid would do when he first picked up a bass before any lessons. Ripping open strings then slamming down his finger on the 11th fret. Rinse and repeat :D

To me, they sound alot like the Pumpkins but back in their Gish days, also alot of songs also feel like they should be in Siamese Dream, i mean Lazy Eye is a good example, while Melatonin and Little Lover so polite and some others sound like "Gish" songs. Either way, both are good bands.

Actually your wrong. Yea there not exactly like the Smashing Pumpkins when you look at them now with the versatility of their career but SP being alternative has nothing to do with it, in-fact when SP started they were indie with psychedelic experimentation. SSPU are very close to what SP was, they have a unique lead singer, a female bassist, they are doing the exact opposite of what everyone else is doing, they also use the over-dubbed guitar... i can go on and on...
