  • Don cab is fucking sweetness.

  • you guys should check out the suess on myspace there 2 of them go on the jazz experimental one.

  • ian williams is bomb

  • I think this song is actually called "You Drink A Lot of Coffee For a Teenager" off of American Don

  • its actually constantly switching between the 2

  • Both great titles, though.

  • ian williams is the man.

  • lol at the guy on the bottom left.

  • TheMajorWorks hard at being a total fucktard.

  • I like what you did there.

  • If you don't like this music, then don't comment in it.

  • moron.

  • Nice improv from this fantastic trio. Yes, they play the beggining of "You drink a lot of coffee...", but then the song moves to an improv space.

Williams`s phrase in 2:50 is really interesting, and the unspected ending is very cool!

  • This wasn't improv. Its an actual song that for the most part got scrapped with the exception of the mid section which ended up being you drink alot of coffee for a teenager. I saw them play it in Lawrence, KS in oct '99 and have seen video of it elsewhere on youtube. They knew exactly what they were doing. I really wish they hadn't ditched the whole song because the drumming is outstanding on it!

  • I have several bootlegs from that time, and I didn`t heard this. Are you sure? I mean... You listened it in '99! Some time ago...

And I can imagine that you are not "Mr. Sober"

, so... The past can get a little fuzzy sometimes! =D

Anyway, I`m glad with the studio version of "You drink...". I think that it was a great choice not to add the parts that are played in this video. But the drumming is cool, as you said it!

  • yup, I have a bootleg from the show I saw in oct 99' and this was on it. It was very shortly after mike had left. I saw them play parts of this during the soundcheck and I asked them where mike was and ian said they downloaded him into this, and pointed to his headrush peadal. If you have several bootlegs of don cab I'm interested.

  • I think that was at The Bottleneck, correct?? Awesome show. I saw them after that (I think) at the el torreon in KC. Both great shows.

  • so fucking good

  • Hey well I'm a kid i love the math rock

  • This Song is called "You Drink Alot of Coffee For A Teenager"

  • no sir, you do, and so does your obvious shitty taste in music...go back to listenin to Korn and Limp Bizkit and leave the smart stuff to us adults...

  • Mr Che is a God amongst men... this band are amazing. cant wait to see them again. 5 stars!

  • I love how they would make variations to their songs live. indeed long live the don!

  • Damon is still the best and Long Live the DON! RIP

  • you don't like world class listening problem then?

  • I just got it a few weeks ago. and I do like indeed! Not my favorite, but I do like it a lot. I really really like the old shit from the Luciano days, i.e. For Respect. I lived in Oakland at the time, circa 1995 and 1996. I defintely like the two guitars again; however, the Damon and Ian combo was so sweet live! Long Live th Don! Most definately my favorite band!

  • i have been told (as i never saw them live with the old line up) that the show was nothing but ian and che like sending hateful glares at each others cause they both constantly fought over who would lead and such.

  • If you wanna read something interesting about Don Cab, check the tour diary written by Fred Weaver: "The last dark days of Don Caballero".

It explains those final moments of the Williams - Che era.

  • hi new to don cab what were the luciano days?

  • Lucianos was a very small cafe just outside of the main downtown Pittsburgh where a lot of smaller local bands played in the early to mid 90's. The place was tiny, loud, and the "stage" was like a foot tall. Shale was another popular band that played there...
