Does this buggy take a 540 or a 550 motor?

@tommyboy85 The 550 motors are the way to go, they have a lot more power and torque. A 540 motor will struggle to move this vehicle with authority.

I can see where a 550 would be better for the slash also though, less struggle means running cooler and more power right?

i recently tested a lower kv track star 2560kv 550 motor on 3s and 4s in 4x4 sct 10 it runs cool on 4s with 16x42 mod 1, diff ripping toque . maybe to much for this buggy. if you want the drive line to last

the novak motor recomended is 1/8 size 550 in 4 different kv ,4.5T 5000kv .2s lipo max , 5.5T 3700kv 2s / 3s ...6.5T 3400kv 2s-3s .7.5T 3100kv 3s. it comes down to weight if you run to lower kv you will need a big 3 0r 4s lipo jammed in it.. if you want to hold it wide open battery after battery in sandy dessert terrain you really need a 550 size motor .around 4000kv on 2 cell should run cool geared correctly..not over hear like a 540 motor theres not many choices under 100 dollars
