4" of rings is pretty good, I think he's better than me. As long as all your children, nephews, and nieces know the safety habits, they should be alright. I also have a SR9 and I love it. I taught my friend how to use it and all the safety precautions that go along with it. Looks like you have him in the isosceles stance, not my favored stance but it works. Later you can teach him the weaver and modified weaver.
You live in England? And so that makes you the voice of experience? How many firearms do you own? How many kids do you know who took proper training from their dad then went barmy and shot up Westminster Abbey? I've been to England. There is a appropriate word for the BS you are dishing out. TRIPE. Good shooting kiddo.
kids should not be shooting guns. you should not be filming him shoot either. you should of been focusing on his shooting in case something serious happened, not making a christmas video card.
@blaziankhmer You are entitled to your opinion, of course... But, I learned to shoot when I was 8 years old. My nephew has shot many times before this video, and has demonstrated a constant attention to proper safety and responsible handling. My 5 year old daughter also shoots a .22 rifle, maybe I should post a video of that to egg you on some more. Welcome to America, the land of the free. If you don't like it, I hear England is nice this time of year.
@lonesailor21va Yeah... My first gun was a 20th anniversary Daisy lever pump BB/Pellet rifle. I was 5years old. When i got good enough and respect the weapon enough my parents let me shoot the Remington Nylon 66 with supervision... When i turned 14 i got my own breach action single shot 20ga... From then on i have been buying my own and shooting on a regular basis and have quite the collection. I believe everyone should be taught at a young age because.................
@lonesailor21va Its easier to teach someone younger that its not a toy and how to respect it and properly use it than trying to teach a rebellious immature teenager. Not saying someone under 13 is not immature... Its just they listen to you a little bit better and actually WANT to learn what your teaching them... At least thats my opinion, thats how i was and how i saw other people. Look at the difference between preteens and teens shooting here on youtube, huge difference.
You're the problem with America. Kids who have been taught proper gun safety, and what a weapon can do AREN'T the ones that are accidentally killing themselves or someone else. Kids that haven't ever been around a gun before simply assume its a toy.
@japanther18 but you also are forgetting that if a kid knows the power of a gun he could also use it for wrong doing. he would build this ego of a threat with a firearm. if he decided to snap one day at school and he gets a hold of a gun, now he becomes a train killer. their minds aren't developed to think what is right and wrong.
@dafish665 don't take me for a liberal, im just stating what's on my mind. all of these school shootings that happened were mostly from kids who had experience from hand guns. how many videos of kids in their back yard shooting their .22lr rifles with no adult supervision? that kid might want to do something dumb just to make a video and show his/her friends. you have to actually be a little more pessimistic in order to be more cautious.
@blaziankhmer thats fair but this isnt a unsupervised kid in his backyard. this is at a an indoor range where i'm sure theres an rso watching them very closely. i happen to be one of those kids that shoots .22lr in the back yard. im 16 but its not a new thing. if you are trained properly and have the proper respect for the firearm theres nothing wrong with it. you dont have to be pessimistic. you have to be carful and know what your doing. and not be a psychopath that would shoot up a school.
I was younger than him when i shot my first 9mm, and i handled it better without hunching over, and tensing every muscle in my arm, and moving with the gun.

Kudos to you. For an 11 year old he had very nice recoil control. What did his grouping look like?
SniperShea 2 years ago 7
@SniperShea He was handling it quite well, his groupings weren't perfect, but he kept most of them in the center 4" of rings.

Good to teach safe gun habits yourself at a young age.... instead of Hollywood teaching them.

I think its better if you learn to like guns when your young. better than sitting in front of the damn tv waching sponge bob.
