  • james horner is a genius

  • Huge fan of his work! James Horner writes some of the most emotional and amazing pieces of music for the screen! He's my favorite film composer!! <3 It's funny how he said that he writes music like a painting...if you study music history, composers have continually looked to art for inspiration (especially in the 20th century with impressionism and expressionism). Composers wanted to experiment with the abstract. :)

  • Älskar hans musik till A Beautiful Mind.

  • There is no one better than you James! You are amazing :)

  • I love this guy. He's incredible!!! He really inspires me!!!!

  • he has a gift that most people don't have. There is a study going on about how people's mind process music. If you see or invision a color when listening to music, it means that you have some type of musical gift that most do not have. This was from a Nova special called music of the minds.

  • I always listen to his work:) hes great

  • Love his work

  • What a genius. I love and resect his work like no other! And this soundtrack is no exception :)

  • a genius? he's the most despicable and despised composer in hollywood. he denigrates and viciously attacks almost everyone he's ever worked with in interviews. he has no class.

  • Really? So, since you're a hollywood insider, let me know exactly what instances he says these things and whatnot, and then explain to me just how he continues to work with the most respected filmmakers in the business and NOT lose his credibility.

  • this shows how little you obviously know of inside hollywood or the film scene because you would know that he has in fact LOST his credibility and respect and many film makers refuse to work with him. One of the interviews of him here on youtube he himself admits how wolfgang petersen didn't want to rehire him. secondly ron howard is the biggest known collaborator of horner apart from james cameron and howard always chose horner to do his films but who did he choose for his new film? ZIMMER

  • specifics, please?

  • Actually, Cameron and Horner have only worked together twice. They had such a falling out during "Aliens" that Horner refused to work with him until "Titanic." Cameron's main collaborator was usually Brad Fiedel, but he seems to have gone into retirement.

Truthfully, I think that with the exception of John Williams, all the work's going to Zimmer and his Media Ventures buddies, and their "one-stop shopping" approach to soundtrack-making.

  • Jeffrey told me to comment this. So there. I suppose this is cool. I didn't even really know who James Horner was until now.

    I bid you good day.
