  • @TheMorphinator

whats the name of the chip you glued on the board...

  • @Jazzykirat It's a PIC Microcontroller manufactured by Microchip (not a 555 timer). Sorry, not going to give the exact model :)

  • kind of attempted this without a solder using super glue and electric tape , probably wont work as most of them will fall out :( do you think it could still work im half way done atm

  • @wipp3dcream It could work for a little while, but eventually the tape might come off. Also, I don't know what the super glue will do to the board and chip. Super glue works by melting plastic - which both the chip and PCB are made from. If one of the wires comes off and shorts something out without you knowing, it could damage the chip/board. I would recommend stopping, going to RadioShack, and picking up a starter's kit for about $20 with both the soldering iron and solder.

  • @TheMorphinator thanks already ordered a solder :P thanks for the feedback :)

  • Is this PIC Microcontroller completely stock without any programming done to it?

  • @Beardymanlol A PIC Microcontroller is sort of like a small computer. If a computer doesn't have an OS, it doesn't have much to do. It's the same with a microcontroller, so a stock PIC Microcontroller that is not programmed will not do anything. Yes, this microcontroller is programmed.

  • what chip does this mod use is it a 555 chip?

  • @N4THANF0ST3R No, it is a PIC Microcontroller.

  • i was just wondering how does the mod work without a momentary push button please respond

  • @antonio3697 You can use it with or without a pushbutton. When you hook up a pushbutton, you wire it in so that the connection is grounded when you press the button. The sync button does the same thing when the wire is connected to the middle pin, and you push the button. Since wired controllers don't have a sync button, you will need a pushbutton for a wired controller.

  • Wait does the notch face up or down

  • @wcgultimategamer324 The notch is facing up, towards the triggers.

  • what do you use the other three diode for??

the two that are the same and the tiny red one.

  • @acesxxrey The two that are the same are the 330 ohm resistors, and you only need them if you have a matrix board (not in this video). The small red/black/clear one is the diode, and you also only need that if you have a matrix board.

  • @TheMorphinator Thanx A lot Very Helpful

  • can you bend the prongs up on the chip for easier soldering?? please reply thanks.

  • @CRAZEDX100 Yes, you can bend the pins up. Just be careful not to bend them back and forth, since this can cause the pins to break off.

  • @zbrow1000 If you are an amateur at soldering, I would not recommend this.

  • My controller doesn't say cg or cg2 :( I'm guess cause I got an old controller?

  • @joshrawks21 Is it the matrix board shown in the guide?

  • @TheMorphinator I want to buy one from you, is the MW3 mod service come with a MW3 controller case?

  • @daTqUeEnSBoy23 Sorry, I do not have MW3 cases. I do have red, orange, blue, black and clear thumbsticks, bottom trim, and triggers that I can install at an extra price. I also have red, orange, and blue LEDs that I can install at an extra price.

You can also get custom modes with the mod service- you can choose any number/speed modes you like.

  • wheres the video for taking apart the controller?

  • @mancreep Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to make one yet. There are many, many other good videos on youtube that can help you out.

  • how many modes???

  • @opticshotsl96 The mod kits have ten modes, but if you order in bulk (ten or more), then I can do custom modes for you. Also, if you have a mod service done, instead of buying a kit, I can do custom modes for you.

  • Nice I might buy a mw3 mod kit

  • Got my mod all done, how do you change modes now?

    thx

  • @18luca To change modes, you simply press (but don't hold) then sync button.

  • @dres123challenge I'm not entirely sure which board is in the Halo Reach controllers, but it is probably a CG/CG2 board. I remember that I modded a Reach controller awhile ago, and so far I have only had one matrix board (it was in an old white controller), so it is probably CG or CG2.

  • Oh thanks but I was thinking about doing it my self :) By the way if you got some extra time and you make a good noob video about putting leds in controller like green to blue?

  • @kamilmario1 OK, that's alright. I haven't done any LED mods yet, and I don't have any LEDs either. I am thinking about starting to do LED mods soon, and I can make a tutorial on how to install them once I get the hang of it.

  • Ah looks hard do you know any that are not so hard besides the intesnafire.

  • @kamilmario1 I don't know of any other than the intensafire. I offer a mod service, so I could install it for you if you would like, and it's cheaper than an intensafire.
