  • I think what you are all missing, is Mr. Campbell knows what is happening, and before it has it's final say-so, he is. I applaud this, and insurable. He is OK. I commend this, well done. And the line, "and I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time.". just doesn't get sexier than that. Come to Chicago, come to Minneapolis..I would be honored, tear soaked and thankful to be a part of the audience. Rhinestone Cowboy..the embers are blazing..stay on the line.

  • I hate seeing the Rhinestone Cowboy ride off in the sunset. The children coming up behind us will never see such talent.

  • I've always loved Glen Campbell and his music, especially "Wichita Lineman"...........thank you Glen Campbell and I wish you the very, very best!

  • Fantastic Legend !

  • He is Amazing & my heart goes out to him!!!!! His music is Forever!!!! God Bless You!!!!

  • Glen Campbell plays "The Wichitaw Lineman" at 1:40.

  • What an incredible talent. How wonderful to know that he has lived his life knowing what he was meant to do and having the opportunity to always do it. Even now. And what a blessing for us too. Thank you so much Glen! I could never express in a way that was worthy enough, what your music has meant to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

  • Why did they mute his guitar? He's very clearly playing leads on that strat that aren't being heard.

  • The man has Alzheimer's. No lip syncing...rips it up on guitar. God bless Glen Campbell.

  • Know all about Alzheimer's. My dear mom has it and it has not been a bowl of cherries let me tell you. God keep Glenn strong and especially his family. Family struggles just as hard if not harder than the sufferer. Good luck and God bless you Glenn

  • @Thetusnicki My mom died of Alzheimer's. My thoughts are with you. It's such a wretched disease. You lose them twice. It was the most difficult time of my life, and I don't think I'll ever be the same again. I'm sending you lots of love.

  • the brandy gets so much better with aging ! What fond memories his singing reminds me of . Will love him for ever.

  • LOVE YOU GLENN!! THANKS FOR PLAYING THE SOUNDTRACK OF MY EARLY LIFE, AND FOR ALL YOUR PRECIOUS GIFTS, LIKE THIS INCREDIBLE SONG!

  • @jfsgro Amen.....same here. Love you Glen.

  • I had never appreciated Country music until my French husband introduced me to this song and this man :-) Glen: I pray that this ugly disease will be rebuked from you in JESUS all powerful Holy Name! Be healed and be well.

  • ...realmente una enfermad horrible, espero que al Señor Campbell le vaya excelente y reciba muucho amor y mucha ayuda y pido pasiencia y paz para su gente!!!!...

  • Glen has always been my favorite singer. Wichita Lineman is one of my favte songs. So sad, but courageous at the same time. He wants to play guitar until he no longer can do it any more. Very brave!

  • EXCELLENT,EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!!!

  • How wonderful he has chosen to go on and still play and tour! This interview made me sad for him though and I wish him the best. Thanks for the great music over the years, Glen!

  • Nine people have no soul!

  • Love Glen. Wichita Lineman is amazing; Jimmy Webb. Still have my original Rhinestone Cowboy. Seems like pop radio was more open back then; turn on the radio to one station and hear country, soul, rock, pop etc. Those two girls who were texting at the Grammys when he performing should have been thrown out of the building

  • Brings a tear to my eye.

  • PURE CLASS!

  • Awesome talent !!!

  • "You're funny" :D

  • love you pal

  • I love Glen Campbell. I grew up listening to him. Not a record in the house until I bought a great

collection of him doing Hank Williams songs. We watched his show he hd great musical segments and guests. Wichita Lineman is amongst my most favorite songs ever and those

songs (By the Time I get to Phoenix, Gentle on My Mind) transcend their country music label.

And so I sit and remember and will play Wichita Lineman and dig up the lyrics and sing with

my old friend Glen. God Bless and thank you!

  • God bless you Glen..RWB

  • just got tickets for silver springs yeah go glen

  • Glen can still outplay me on guitar any day, even at 75 years old. Truly one of the greatest talents I've seen in my lifetime.

  • awee reminds me of my Daddy, he had Dementia which is a type of Alzheimers he was a great guitarist and performer but his age took him for a run and couldnt play his guitar in the last few years of especially the last few months of his life. i hope that Glen enjoys the rest of his life and does what my Daddy done and made it the best ending :D hope he has fun with his Alzheimers cos my Dad had a few great stories he told us :D :D

  • Crying...

  • I am so sorry for the Campbell family.. My mom loved Glen Campbell even nameing her youngest child Kelli same as Glen's. It is so ironic that he has Alzhiemers. My mom had Alzheimers early and passed away in 2009. Its gonna be a very tough for this family as in other families that deal with this disease.. He is still singing great as always.. God Bless!

  • Enjoy him while he's here people. One of a kind and a true legend. God Bless him.

  • Oh my gosh! Totally outstanding!

  • Glen Campbell, a true American icon. I grew up listening to his songs on the radio in the 60's;

almost like a soundtrack to my life. It's wonderful to see that he still has the ability to perform

and bring back good memories for the many fans he has, despite the Alzheimer's. I sincerely hope the best for Glen in his golden years, and thanks for all wonderful songs and great performances that warm the heart, and sooth the soul. The Wichita lineman is still on the line.

  • An American icon,God bless you Glen.

  • 9 ppl are bieber lovers

  • nice guitar,

  • I think True Grit was the first movie I saw in a theater as a kid. I was just a few days shy of turning 8. When my parents and I left the movie theater I was raving about how much I loved the movie. I even got to buy the LP and I still have it...I also had a crush on Glen after that.hehe. Hearing him brings back good memories.

  • He's soon to be 76 years old. Just the fact that he's the age he is, doing what he's doing is impressive. I hear some musical mistakes - it makes me sad, but even with that - he's still fantastic. One of the greatest guitar players of our time. A genius player -

  • One of the greatest musical artists of the last century ... and if he's not careful, this century. Fantastic.

  • I'm speechless. Great job Glen...and family!

  • seeing this brought back memories...first album I ever tried to claim as mine was a best of album - had true grit, galveston, honey come back, try a little kindness, where's the playground susie and maybe half a dozen other hits. can't find it in the discography but its value as a collectors item was dashed when I was five - I tried to write may name on the waxy LP cover.

  • Ellen's awfully calm for someone interviewing such an amazing person

  • Comment removed

  • i am heartbroken. as a child i loved glen, as an adult i still love glen. i didnt know untill today he is sick. i am shattered...he is still so sexy...

  • Memory is transient, talent is hardwired. Damn he sounds good! To dislike this is to dislike life.

  • @Darrenov well said-glen is an american legend!!

  • A wonderful man and a brilliant musician. God bless Glen Campbell; he's a true gift to us all.

  • I love this song and this video was posted on my birthday. PERFECT!

  • my dad made me a fan, no choice really... but so glad now he did. but what amazes me about this horrible disease for Glen and his family, is that after seeing him perform last week in Killarney, Ireland. is that his has not lost ability to play the GUITAR...your music has a way of reaching out and touching people from all ages. well done Glen, there is not many that will be able to follow in your FOOTSTEPS..

  • I SHOWED MY 85 YEAR OLD MOTHER THIS VIDEO CLIP AND HER EYES FILLED WITH TEARS OF JOY AND SHE STOOD UP AND APPLAUDED HIM AS IF HE WAS IN THE ROOM SINGING FOR HER SHE WAS SO HAPPY.

  • @lgttb1 brilliant. this proves there is a God, or at least a force of divine harmony that has filled this man with unspekable genius. . .I see some dislikes on this comment board; who could dislike this ?

  • @lgttb1 Awesome...

  • He still sounds great. Health is wealth I guess.

  • I find myself looking at every sign of ailment. So glad to see he can still play. God love him.I will so miss his music

  • It makes my heart feel a twinge, my Mom loved you Glen and had all your albums. She had Alzheimers too. I have lost her and now knowing you are living with that scary disease make my heart sad. I sit here celebrating what would have been her 78th birthday listening to your recent performance and the tears flow and they are of the joy to hear you belt out this song. Loved it then and now. Prayers be with you as your mind's journey goes to that hiding place deep within. God bless you Glen C.

  • "And I need you more than want you, and iwant you for all time..." My favorite line from any song in the world.

  • Whats he gonna do when he starts forgetting his songs when he tours?

  • @GangstaSmurfDawg read his prompter

  • Ellen, thank you so much for honoring Glen. His Wichita Lineman album was among the very first I'd ever owned as a teen. As a so-called military brat we'd been living in Japan and I was dead broke, so my dad bought it for me at the Navy Exchange at Atsugi Naval Air Station. I'd been hooked on Glen Campbell (and all of his Jimmy Webb-penned classics) ever since.

  • the C.M.A's blew it with their horrible tribute to Glen.they ones that sang his songs sounded like drunks at a kareoke bar. why didn't they allow Glen to play ?

  • saw glen with my brother aweek ago in bristol,..he was great , you could see a differance in him,..his daughter was watching out for him every sec,.. but it was still a great performace,.. Made me feel warm of the memories, listening to him in my dads truck,..true grit,..with the duke,...also had tears in my eyes like i have now watching this,...hope you dont suffer glen...and thank you so much,..for being apart of my boy hood to man hood............your songs will stay in my heart for ever,

  • Glen,

You sound better than ever and I love hearing this song "live". I've always loved you and you are truly one of our "greats". Please stay around forever.

  • I will pray for you. After all you made me smile for many years. God bless you.

  • Wow...Glen, you made a grown man weep! I have always loved this (and several other) song of yours, and even though I mostly listen to classic and hard Rock, your music has always touched and moved me. I remember hearing your songs, as a kid, on our car's AM radio as we traveled...like a soundtrack to our vacations. God be with you brother.

  • I like to think that we all will remember his greatness FOR him.

  • GLEN'S VOICE SOUNDS EVEN BETTER WITH AGE ! AND HE STILL MAKES HIS GUITAR SING AND TALK BETTER THEN ANYONE.

  • That was a wonderful moment.....to be able to see YOU sing.....

I have listened to you all my life.......

Thank you for all you have given to the world.......(~_*)

  • Good stuff - Good memories

Best of luck Glen and family

  • I watched this live and was almost in tears. Met him once and thought he was a really nice guy. True American!

  • I watched this today and Cried and Cried...OMG!

  • Glen, when I was teenager, I listened to all the classic rock acts, but I also listened to you as well, because talent knows no barriers, and your music is timeless. You provided the soundtrack to many lives who grew up in the sixties. Your new cd is fantastic, and your fans will see you pick-up many an award at the CMA'S.

  • all the best Glenn - how awesome touring/playing with your kids. Kudos to your strength in facing Alzheimers. The song gave me goosebumps - just love your voice.

  • Could be the best ever live recording of this song. Way to go Glen!

  • I never really liked this genre of music, but i realize now its because ive been listening to all the wrong songs. Amazing song.

  • I too, like a chap commenting below, went to see Glen in Nottingham, England tonight. To say that his voice has got more beautiful over time is a great under statement. I hope he stays in the same health that he has at the moment, and God-willing, we can welcome Glen back again next year. I couldn't bring myself to buy a "Goodbye" tee shirt, as that's too final. Thank you Glen, for the wonderful memories you still provoke, with all your songs, and especially Wichita Lineman. God bless x

  • went to see this legend at the nottingham concert hall tonight!! This guy was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So this may not be the typical 16 year old from England kinda music, but dammit I love this song! haha, what a man he is :D

  • Glen Campbell has always been one of my absolute favorite performers - he is one of the most amazing guitarists in ALL of the music industry!! Listen to Galveston - the guitar will blow you away!!!! God Bless You Glen - I love you so much and have since I was 12 years old!!!

  • In the interview with Ellen, I think you may hear this line repeated in the movie about Glen's life.

"Music is Healing" It definitely is.

What better way to battle this disease than having a Loving supportive wife and family in your corner. And also the band members from Instant People and T.J.

Thanks to all that love and support the legend of this man comes out here.

  • Thank you for sharing this! I loved this song as a little girl and I'm so thankful he can still sing it. Amazing how time marches on...Thanks Glenn for the memories and beautiful music. Hugs....

  • what song is this?? please tell me

  • @100supernaturalfreak Wichita Lineman

  • @SasJ64 thank you(:

  • I love you Glenn, always have always will, God bless

  • hey justin bieber take note this is what real music sounds like!

  • 7 people who disliked this had Alzheimer's disease. They forgot what is the like and dislike button.

  • I love his music so much. Well glad he still is on tour sharing his amazing talent.

  • i feel sad for my grandpa):

  • I am ashamed to admit that I used to not like this song, maybe because I heard too many people make fun of that opening line "I am a lineman for the county". Listening to the song without prejudice, I have now fallen in love with it. To quote Ken Tucker on NPR reviewing Glen's farewell album, "I wish Glen Campbell the best life he can possibly have".

  • no beating this disease....or the song. Perfect....

  • damn it Glen ... you made me cry hearing this beautiful song again. i dug out my old cassette tape and drove down the highway last night with it on repeat remembering all of my lost loves . I hope God smile brightly upon you Glen.

  • He can still play with the best of them. Notice it takes a group of young guns to back him up, they are pretty good themselves or they would not be there. Glen Campbell actually was one of the best guitar players of his time and was a studio session player in LA in the sixties and is on many albums prior to his own solo career by Artists like Frank Sinatra and so on...

  • @RealVideoRay I heard that the youngs guns backing him up was his children,

  • I still recall the Glenn Campbell Show when his parents were in the studio audience and he always made the point of telling everyone that he was from "Delight, Arkansas".....and that he was the top guitar "picker" of his time...he and I are about the same age and he can still sing better than me.!!! Thanks for the memories, Mr. Campbell

  • I am very glad that he can still play the guitar and also sing such a wonderful song..Am very touched and may god bless you always Glen...Keep on singing ..OK Frankie Ong from Brunei Darussalam..

  • I am the only one that LOVES when she says "thanks". IT IS DO EFFING CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!! 0:52

  • 7 Dislikes! You guys are bitches!

  • the hot girl in the band doesn't do shit!!

  • @TheSean021 i believe its called playing the piano continuously throughout the song.

  • @kurih81 Just look at her hand!! she is just acting!! the real pianist is the guy with the beard who is sitting down!!!

  • @TheSean021 there are 2 keyboards, 1 is playing a piano sound, and the girl is playing a sustained synth

  • @nucleargamer12

    whatever!!

  • @TheSean021 man i didn't notice the dude with the beard!...well this changes things...she just plays the same 4 chords over and over again ...i wudda rather watched the dude with the beard. lol

  • @TheSean021 SHE IS GLEN'S DAUGHTER AND IS A VERY TALENTED GUITAR PLAYER. SHE IS PLAYING THE SYNTHESIZER ON THIS SONG IN ORDER TO FILL IN FOR THE MISSING ORCHESTRA PARTS. NOW PULL YOUR HANDS OUT OF YOUR PANTS AND GO TO BED .

  • @TheSean021 U SHOULD BE BANNED FROM YAHOO FOR TALKING THAT WAY. I HOPE GOD HAS MERCY ON U.

  • @TheSean021 U SHOULD BE BANNED FROM YAHOO FOR THAT FILTHY MOUTH OF YOURS. IT MAKES U SOUND STUPID AND UNEDUCATED. ALSO, IM SURE U COULDN'T GET A DATE WITH A GOOD WOMAN IF U TRIED. MAY G O D HAVE MERCY ON U.

  • this is one of the most beautiful sounding songs of all time. i love to hear it late at night while flying down the highway. it makes me smile and my eyes a little wet every time i hear it. thank you Glen

  • Im not into to country music (much) but this performance blew me away, congrats Mr. Campbell, I wish you well and good health in the future, take care and live outloud.

  • 7 people has no heart.

  • This is so awesome....my great grandpa had it...just amazes me how awesome he still is. Is it possible you could post "A Better Place" too? That song just makes me cry in a good way.

  • This is such a wonderful performance by a truly wonderful man and performer! Thank you so much Ellen for having Glen and his wife on your show. I grew up with the Glen Campbell show on TV for many years and he STILL has it!!! God bless you Glen in your battle with Alzheimer's disease. You are truly a gifted performer!

  • The song is called "Wichita Lineman" written by Jimmy Webb in 1968

  • lineman for the county is the song title

  • What's the title of this song?! Somebody! Please! Thanks!

  • Thanks, Ellen, for having Glen on. So many times I heard that song in the car with mom or dad driving. Good, good stuff.

  • Alzheimer's is a horrible disease, soon you lose all memory of how to do anything even when to go to the restroom, I pray he can fight it..

  • I think he is fabulous. I just wish the best for him for the future. I have always thought he was so very talented.

  • I love how her friend is just there.. and doesn't care lol

  • i'll get you the album too... the clean version. lmao

  • he's chantaclear! I love me some glen campbell...and i love me some rock a doodle.

  • Love this guy. Great music.

  • just terrible. as a youth, these songs were for the ''older'' folk. now that I am one (lol), this song (and many others), bring a tear. Thanks Glenn. I wish all the best to you.

  • Wichita Lineman is a song written by Jimmy Webb. Glen Campbell is a national treasure. He played with a top notch group of studio musicians in the 50s 60s and 70s called the Wrecking Crew. They played on hundreds of hit records from Sinatra to the Monkees. Glen toured with the Beach boys. His daughter has said when they listen to the radio together about 1 in 4 songs he would say i played on that song. In his day nobody could touch him on guitar. The man is an icon.

  • which song is this? :O

  • the girl on the keyboard is hot

  • Love this song & only fell for it a couple of yrs back .....

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS?

  • @drsmiley99 Witchita Lineman

  • This is a great song.

  • Witchita Lineman was also my fav song of Glen Campbell. It was nice also to see his children backing him on this song. I wish they would find a cure for this disease.

  • pls, just take a look at the tags of this video lol

  • Beautiful passion and determination. I hope that sort of passion lives on forever.

  • does he ever forget the ummmmm the what? oh does he forget the lyrics?

  • Ryan higa? What?

  • ryan higa!!!

  • Glen is amazing. He really is an inspiration for everyone no matter what your dealt. He's going on with his life. A remarkable talent. And for his age man can he still sing.

  • I love love love Glen. It's so horrible that he has alzheimers. He is an amazing singer and gutiar player, and eventually, he won't remember any of it. And it kills me. Love you, Glen!

  • Lol I'm literally watching this on tv this exact moment

  • Awesome! Glen Campbell can still sing it and pick it! And he still has a great sense of humor. Best of all, he is blessed with the Love and Support of his wonderful family.

  • is he the guy that owns the soup

  • This brings back my childhood. Glen Campbell was one of the voices that so often played in the background of our lives, along with Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton... Good memories. Thank you.
