If you wanted to do this better, or even close to properly, you'd have the camera on a tripod, a room lit by a flourescent, not natural light, and probably have the friend move his hand after making his selection... maybe leave a marker to show which he chose

You'd also have to deal with the card shift so you might need line markers to tell you where to leave the cards at the end of the move and where to put them after rearranging them all...

Or if you were clever you could wipe between two separate shots while the "magician" moved his hand over the cards before picking up the selection... Also adding background music dubbed over the video but faint enough to make it sound as if it was in the video itself (possibly include some white noise in the audio) would fool people further.
