what was the main problem of the gear shifting? was it the 2nd to 3rd synchros?

The problem turned out to be a shattered spigot bearing in the flywheel which caused the gearbox input shaft and seal to go causing the shift problems, all sorted now.

hi, nice project mate, im building something similar using a vw golf mk2 van and a 32v audi v8, i see you had problems with your shift linkage,did you use a cable set-up or rod? im just about to make a cable set-up using speed boat cables.hope you got it sorted, see you at the track maybe? we'll have a hybrid-off! nice!

is the centre diff big enough to cope with the power? or do u just ease it on? no launches

There is no centre diff mate, it was removed as part of a kit to convert it to 2wd.

I thought the center diff sends power to the front pinion (rear in your case i guess) through the tube inside the countershaft? Is it a modified center diff or is there none at all?

The centre diff is completely removed and a locking sleeve is fitted which locks the two shafts together so all the drive goes to the front. (rear)

thats the blow of valve not opening properly causing compressor serge. you can hear it loud because the pod filter is right behind the camera
