I really do not see how this SC defense struggled to defend this option attack when they had an elite linebacker like Willie McGinest anchoring the defense. I guess it must have been bad coaching because most of these players are not wrapping up the ball carrier and they are taking bad angles on a man who has started to run with the ball. Ol Lou out coached every USC coach that ever stepped foot on the field against him from 1985-1996 almost a decade of dominance....and i respect Ol Lou forever

Oh my God please tell me they called a holding penalty on the USC tackle (2:50) during the last pass when ND got that interception. The ND defensive end would have gotten the sack had it not been for the choke hold the offensive lineman put on him. If that was not called that was the worst no call I have ever seen.

@qukarlz Why is ND relevant? They have not been a consistent top 10 team in over 20 years, yet they are on national TV every Saturday. Name me one other program in the country that gets that kind of exposure when they aren't good. I will save you the time. NOBODY!!! They are relevant because it isn't about winning or losing, although winning would be preferable. To this day, ND is the most loved and hated and watched football program in the country.

nd does not have the same advantages that the uw has in playing usc! most of the new coaches at the uw coached with carroll for years, 2 key players didnt play, and usc totally overlooked the uw. also if the nd faithful were intellectually honest they would know the uw got screwed on the late td in the game from a homer call. pay off the officials and nd might have a chance.

Truthfully, it has been over 20 years since ND was a consistent title contender and have not had a Heisman winner since about 84 or 85 when Tim Brown won.
