i have met more pitt bulls than i can count, nice as can be they played with my dog let me pet them ect... on the other hand i have met a few less chihuahuas and have been bit by most of them so whose the real agressive breed. neither its u to the owner to raise them.

@YouToobWatcher3 Actually, APBT are considered by most experts to be exceptionally friendly towards people. The breed itself is mostly breed for companionship. In the 40's and 50's the APBT was one of the most popular American family dogs. The Pitbull has NEVER been exclusively breed to fight people or dogs. The name "Pit" comes from the pits the dogs where put in to kill rats for betting purposes. The fact is that they make great pets and are friendly towards people. Educate yourself.

I'm saying that their reputation as unpredictable killers is uncalled for and based off of urban myths and a lack of education about the breed and their disposition. I just recentlly found out that the us military banned pitbulls on the base and everyone who has a pitbull and lives on the base have to get rid of their dog and if they dont they are confisated and murdered. Commissioner Buster Moton asked the Clarksdale Board of Mayor and Commissioners, if anyone felt they should "add other dogs such as rottweilers and German shepherds to an exististing pit bull ordinance matter. That's right, German Shepherds!
If anyone believes that all other canine breeds are protected from BSL, that only the so called "vicious," salivating pit bull is at risk, they are sadly mistaken. Although, Shepherds were not added to the ordinance, the mere suggestion is a fine illustation for us to see where BSL is fated for the future.

Then gather support from the populace--I see people petitioning all the time in front of large stores. Serve local government leaders with you petition. If a politician believes he will not be elected into office again if he supports BSL, believe me, he won't.

I was walking Kodi, A 14 week old stafford, yesterday and when she saw a girl about 13 or 14 years old her tail wagged like mad. She loves people. The girl kicked her in the face and said she was dangerous. I almost knocked that bitch out. But that would make me as bad as her. So instead I politely went up to her and asked why she did it. If you search google for BSL in your area there are some petitions that you can sign to help fight pitbull restrictions in different states. i signed the ones i found and sent them to all of my friends for them to sign...everyone should try to do what they can to stop the government from killing these amazing dogs. i already have one, Red nose APBT i got from someone sending her to the shelter and plan on getting at least one more from the humane society.

Ah hell, I'm just going to make a VLog damnit, something I said I'd never do but this topic makes my blood boil and I doubt anyone has the intellectual capacity to care to read all I have written. Those who are against Pits wont care to read coz they dont care to hear they just scream for death to the breed and most people who own pits think they know everything they need to know and learning ends. If you know more than me or can correct a mistake I've made please share with me your knowledge.
I apologise to DiamondTiger1 for lowjacking his thread but I get really passionate about my pits and wont hear a bad word said of them. Sure there are bad apples, but the werent born that way... just like children when they are raised wrong they become a problem, maybe we should ban children also? I think we need to start a process where pitbull owners are screened and granted permits, bad strikes recorded on a national database and permits removed from idiot owners who think dogs are weapons!
All testament in regards to my dog Butch are true and Im prepared to sit a lie detector to defend them and more while there, I will defend this breed to the end. All dogs can be vicious and I can name a dozen with twice the bite force and a couple with as much as 3 time the bite force of pitbulls. BTW, pitbulls are not the uncontested champion of the fight world and in fact never were the champs as a breed, they are champions for their size and their heart though and its the heart that counts!
People also need to understand also that Pits only ever had papers for a short time and for the most part were an unrecognised breed and here in Australia again are unrecognised. Got papers, lost papers! There are the Wallace black noses and Crenshaws Red noses..., these are just the 2 most distinguished lines in their classes and then their is an array of random crossbreeds which also slipped in for papers as pitbulls. Think you met a pit and know them? Think again, so many varieties to choose.
The blacks that Wallace became famous for can be said were bred for the sole purpose fighting when people lost interest in the bulls and wanted toe the dogs fight. Issue was bulldogs wouldn't fight so they crossed with the terriers known for dog aggression and included other breeds to correct the high asses. This dog was claimed as the all American family dog during the world wars and embraced nicknamed the nursery dog for it attentiveness towards children, this dog was never people aggressive.

Nor can this dog be claimed as bred in America coz it was not, although America does deserve credit for the countless generations of work and effort they put into this dog improving its temperament and its physical dynamics. I am not certain if this dog can be found in England anymore either other than imported from America so America also gains the credits for the survival of the breed plus the open range ranches in America back when gave the dog a purpose and a place of belonging....

The origins of the red nose trace to before Ireland into Europe and further, this breed is timeless and has remained much the same for thousands of years. Whether dogs like the Presa Canario's came from the red noses or vise versa, one thing known is the old family red were not always red nosed.
This bloodline was highly prized by their owners and keepers in Ireland often bred within the owners own line to prevent the corruption of their strand in that without a registry system in those times one could only be certain his strand was pure if he kept to his own. Even with our modern registries K9's papers have been faked and forged, a strong example of this are the new blue's being bred which have come from staff's and bulldogs and palmed under falsified papers...
I believe the old family red threw red noses when the Weimaraner was bred in and oddities were selectively bred not so much for cosmetic purposes but for gameness. The Weimaraner was then pit with Weimaraner were then crossed with Staff's and Bulldogs by people wanting to experiment and a blue oddity was noticed and selectively bred for cosmetic purposes. Papers forged in all 3 bully breeds and the blue found its way back into the Pits where again papers were forged and dogs selectively bred.
It is these blue's which are of a particular concern to me as they have not been bred solely for dog aggression and with the sport being a dieing one have rather been bred for people aggression and sold as potential guard dogs. For generations now they have been bred for people agro and it has and is becoming more instinctive to them. Every breeder site I have gone to I am more and more finding them being advocated as guard trained meaning people aggressive for generations.
You last line in the clip asked if they were going to go after the gentle giants next, the answer is they already have. BSL includes dogs over 100kgs. As an ex kickboxing heavyweight contender I know how a pitbull feels, hard as nails on the outside and soft as butter inside, feared by people for no sane or logical reason. My reputation was for a sport yet people who hardly knew me made me into a monster who bashed woman and children and anyone who opposed me....,
This couldn't have been further from the truth, the governing bodies would have revoked my right to fight and regardless of that fighting was always a last resort to preserve self. I knew what I was capable of doing and occasionally some fool would doubt that and try, I would use minimal force and still wreak havoc. It was a strength that I didn't need to assert and because I presented friendly and gentle some idiots would doubt what they'd heard and have a crack at me for none more than ego!
What I am trying to say is that pitbulls are not people aggressive by instinct although they will protect home and family if threatened. I live in a town where the whole State has had limited contact with Pits and I've had friends over and my dogs sit in the corner weary and are perceived as timid. Occasionally I have a friend spring on me and aggressively pretend to attack me and the dogs have flown them and they realise after I have calmed the dogs down me mate has realised his own stupity.
I understand the dog in the sense that it does not need to assert itself to reassure itself of its potential. They just want to be loved for who they are and not what they are, the meanest pibull I owned who I rescued from a life of pit fighting was one of the gentlest dogs I've owned too. He protected our house on many occasions and never once was a mark to be found on any of the assailants and the police tried, they would have delighted in nothing more than to have put him down!
Even the police came into my mothers house when noone was home and he hid and trapped them in mums room and somehow removed their guns and sat on them. He held them for 2 or so hours before my mother got home and removed him. They returned with an order to terminate and I protested and rang the seargent who came and heard how the dog was inside and there was no possible way he could have been a threat to the officers without them entering the house when noone was home.
Needless to say, this minor detail was not in the officers report of course and the searge noted the dog being inside doing its job. I then brought his attention to the fact that not either one of the officers had so much as a mark to which he complimented my dogs resourcefulness and approach to the situation. He told the young officers to leave after I agreed to not pursue the matter and warned them to be ready for the consequences, more to do with filing a false report than entering our house.
He then complimented my dog more and we approached him and walked within his chain feeling safe as I was there he tried to pat me dog and me dog grabbed his wrist and ran forcefully through his legs and flipped him then stood on his chest and growled at him. LoL I quickly removed him and told him off and the searge ran out of the chains reach and fortunately for me he was laughing and got a glimpse of me dogs tactics saying he would have liked to have seen the officers faces when he sprung them.
The secret here was he had been trained with the Queensland police force before he wound up pit fighting. I was asleep one time om mums couch and he burst through the lounge window and I rushed out after him and he had someone by the throat and a knife lay next to him, cops called and perp arrested and not a mark. A close family friend who knew we always left the back door open and Butch loved him came around and the back door was locked, he tried to enter through the kitchen window....
.... Butch joyfully welcomed him in the back yard and watched him proceed through the window and jumped and caught his ankle at the last moment and pulled him out, the wind was knocked out of me mate as he landed with some force flat on his back and he said Butch growled at him in such a fashion that made him literally lose his bladder control and kept him laying there for some 2 hours till we got home. My mate always loved Butch but after that day sang praises about him everywhere!

My mother had a sigma with brand new motor that unexpected snapped it camshaft, some 3-4kms from home with a pretty much straight run home I harnessed him to the front of the car help him get it up to speed and ran alongside him while he pulled, I crapped when a cop car U-turned with lights on but simply escorted us home and marveled. Upon arriving home they gave me a warning but were to astonished by what they witnessed.....

In the 40's and 50's the APBT was one of the most popular American family dogs. The Pitbull has NEVER been exclusively breed to fight people or dogs. The name "Pit" comes from the pits the dogs where put in to kill rats for betting purposes. The fact is that they make great pets and are friendly towards people. Educate yourself.

I'm saying that their reputation as unpredictable killers is uncalled for and based off of urban myths and a lack of education about the breed and their disposition. The popularity of the APBT's in dog fighting is a relatively new phenomenon and is not a characteristic of the the breed.

I just recentlly found out that the us military banned pitbulls on the base and everyone who has a pitbull and lives on the base have to get rid of their dog and if they dont they are confisated and murdered. Then gather support from the populace--I see people petitioning all the time in front of large stores. Serve local government leaders with you petition. 2:07 is sooo sad! my friend had her pit bull taken away from her, she still to this day crys herself to sleep, and they took her dog away a year ago. please help to stop bsl so people dont have to go through what my friend did

to think people do that to such a sweet dog it makes me mad. if you BITCHS dont like pitbulls you never should of gotten one in the first place. pitbulls deserve love and care . when my pitbull died i felt like part of me was gone iv never felt that way befor :( iv had a lab a boxer a pitbull and a huskey the one that was the best around kids and other dogs was my pitbull. HELP STOP BSL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've grown up with so many pit bulls,
they're the best breed.
they would have done anything for me, to save me, to get my approval.
i even rode one as a tiny child.
and in my opinion its the owner not the dog.

If you search google for BSL in your area there are some petitions that you can sign to help fight pitbull restrictions in different states. i signed the ones i found and sent them to all of my friends for them to sign...everyone should try to do what they can to stop the government from killing these amazing dogs. i already have one, Red nose APBT i got from someone sending her to the shelter and plan on getting at least one more from the humane society.

My pits name is Jake he is 2 y/o. He is a beautiful red nose with one blue eye and one amber eye. He s the most gental animal in th world. My chihuahua is his best friend. BSL SUCKS and it is ignorant and stupid. How about harsher punishment for the jack offs that fight and mis treat them and give them a bad rep.
Lets give them a reason to stop doing it. NOT TAKE AWAY MY RIGHT TO KEEP MY BABY. There is no way in HELL my dog is going anywhere.

Ah hell, I'm just going to make a VLog damnit, something I said I'd never do but this topic makes my blood boil and I doubt anyone has the intellectual capacity to care to read all I have written. Those who are against Pits wont care to read coz they dont care to hear they just scream for death to the breed and most people who own pits think they know everything they need to know and learning ends. If you know more than me or can correct a mistake I've made please share with me your knowledge.

I apologise to DiamondTiger1 for lowjacking his thread but I get really passionate about my pits and wont hear a bad word said of them. Sure there are bad apples, but the werent born that way... just like children when they are raised wrong they become a problem, maybe we should ban children also? I think we need to start a process where pitbull owners are screened and granted permits, bad strikes recorded on a national database and permits removed from idiot owners who think dogs are weapons!

All testament in regards to my dog Butch are true and Im prepared to sit a lie detector to defend them and more while there, I will defend this breed to the end. All dogs can be vicious and I can name a dozen with twice the bite force and a couple with as much as 3 time the bite force of pitbulls. BTW, pitbulls are not the uncontested champion of the fight world and in fact never were the champs as a breed, they are champions for their size and their heart though and its the heart that counts!

People also need to understand also that Pits only ever had papers for a short time and for the most part were an unrecognised breed and here in Australia again are unrecognised. Got papers, lost papers! There are the Wallace black noses and Crenshaws Red noses..., these are just the 2 most distinguished lines in their classes and then their is an array of random crossbreeds which also slipped in for papers as pitbulls. Think you met a pit and know them? Think again, so many varieties to choose.

The blacks that Wallace became famous for can be said were bred for the sole purpose fighting when people lost interest in the bulls and wanted toe the dogs fight. Issue was bulldogs wouldn't fight so they crossed with the terriers known for dog aggression and included other breeds to correct the high asses. This dog was claimed as the all American family dog during the world wars and embraced nicknamed the nursery dog for it attentiveness towards children, this dog was never people aggressive.

Nor can this dog be claimed as bred in America coz it was not, although America does deserve credit for the countless generations of work and effort they put into this dog improving its temperament and its physical dynamics. I am not certain if this dog can be found in England anymore either other than imported from America so America also gains the credits for the survival of the breed plus the open range ranches in America back when gave the dog a purpose and a place of belonging....

... the red nose variety that Crenshaw became famous for originally came from Ireland and were brought to America by the migrating Irish, this dog cannot be credited as an American bred dog either. The origins of the red nose trace to before Ireland into Europe and further, this breed is timeless and has remained much the same for thousands of years. Whether dogs like the Presa Canario's came from the red noses or vise versa, one thing known is the old family red were not always red nosed.

This bloodline was highly prized by their owners and keepers in Ireland often bred within the owners own line to prevent the corruption of their strand in that without a registry system in those times one could only be certain his strand was pure if he kept to his own. Even with our modern registries K9's papers have been faked and forged, a strong example of this are the new blue's being bred which have come from staff's and bulldogs and palmed under falsified papers...

I believe the old family red threw red noses when the Weimaraner was bred in and oddities were selectively bred not so much for cosmetic purposes but for gameness. The Weimaraner was then pit with Weimaraner were then crossed with Staff's and Bulldogs by people wanting to experiment and a blue oddity was noticed and selectively bred for cosmetic purposes. Papers forged in all 3 bully breeds and the blue found its way back into the Pits where again papers were forged and dogs selectively bred.

It is these blue's which are of a particular concern to me as they have not been bred solely for dog aggression and with the sport being a dieing one have rather been bred for people aggression and sold as potential guard dogs. For generations now they have been bred for people agro and it has and is becoming more instinctive to them. Every breeder site I have gone to I am more and more finding them being advocated as guard trained meaning people aggressive for generations.

You last line in the clip asked if they were going to go after the gentle giants next, the answer is they already have. BSL includes dogs over 100kgs. As an ex kickboxing heavyweight contender I know how a pitbull feels, hard as nails on the outside and soft as butter inside, feared by people for no sane or logical reason. My reputation was for a sport yet people who hardly knew me made me into a monster who bashed woman and children and anyone who opposed me....,

This couldn't have been further from the truth, the governing bodies would have revoked my right to fight and regardless of that fighting was always a last resort to preserve self. I knew what I was capable of doing and occasionally some fool would doubt that and try, I would use minimal force and still wreak havoc. It was a strength that I didn't need to assert and because I presented friendly and gentle some idiots would doubt what they'd heard and have a crack at me for none more than ego!

What I am trying to say is that pitbulls are not people aggressive by instinct although they will protect home and family if threatened. I live in a town where the whole State has had limited contact with Pits and I've had friends over and my dogs sit in the corner weary and are perceived as timid. Occasionally I have a friend spring on me and aggressively pretend to attack me and the dogs have flown them and they realise after I have calmed the dogs down me mate has realised his own stupity.

I understand the dog in the sense that it does not need to assert itself to reassure itself of its potential. They just want to be loved for who they are and not what they are, the meanest pibull I owned who I rescued from a life of pit fighting was one of the gentlest dogs I've owned too. He protected our house on many occasions and never once was a mark to be found on any of the assailants and the police tried, they would have delighted in nothing more than to have put him down!

Even the police came into my mothers house when noone was home and he hid and trapped them in mums room and somehow removed their guns and sat on them. He held them for 2 or so hours before my mother got home and removed him. They returned with an order to terminate and I protested and rang the seargent who came and heard how the dog was inside and there was no possible way he could have been a threat to the officers without them entering the house when noone was home.

Needless to say, this minor detail was not in the officers report of course and the searge noted the dog being inside doing its job. I then brought his attention to the fact that not either one of the officers had so much as a mark to which he complimented my dogs resourcefulness and approach to the situation. He told the young officers to leave after I agreed to not pursue the matter and warned them to be ready for the consequences, more to do with filing a false report than entering our house.

He then complimented my dog more and we approached him and walked within his chain feeling safe as I was there he tried to pat me dog and me dog grabbed his wrist and ran forcefully through his legs and flipped him then stood on his chest and growled at him. LoL I quickly removed him and told him off and the searge ran out of the chains reach and fortunately for me he was laughing and got a glimpse of me dogs tactics saying he would have liked to have seen the officers faces when he sprung them.

The secret here was he had been trained with the Queensland police force before he wound up pit fighting. I was asleep one time om mums couch and he burst through the lounge window and I rushed out after him and he had someone by the throat and a knife lay next to him, cops called and perp arrested and not a mark. A close family friend who knew we always left the back door open and Butch loved him came around and the back door was locked, he tried to enter through the kitchen window....

Butch joyfully welcomed him in the back yard and watched him proceed through the window and jumped and caught his ankle at the last moment and pulled him out, the wind was knocked out of me mate as he landed with some force flat on his back and he said Butch growled at him in such a fashion that made him literally lose his bladder control and kept him laying there for some 2 hours till we got home. My mate always loved Butch but after that day sang praises about him everywhere!

I think he was just grateful to be alive lol. My mother had a sigma with brand new motor that unexpected snapped it camshaft, some 3-4kms from home with a pretty much straight run home I harnessed him to the front of the car help him get it up to speed and ran alongside him while he pulled, I crapped when a cop car U-turned with lights on but simply escorted us home and marveled. Upon arriving home they gave me a warning but were to astonished by what they witnessed.....
