There's alot written about opiates (read W. Burroughs and de Quincey for ex.), but as a medical professional I must recognize 2 things: 1) opiates are still the most effective and if used righteously the most effective pain-killers and 2) most of my colleagues suffer from the so called opiophobia and perhaps 3) using them for a legit purpose and getting hooked on its not the same as buying them on the street and using that contaminated poisonous junk recreationally and getting so hooked up

im a recreational pill taker. more of an addict tbh. ive come close to overdosing a few times but i keep at it. dldavie and FreeWhoopin190, i totally agree. its an escape from reality that doesnt compare to anything else. again, as a user/abuser, i take 500mg pills i get from friends/dealers, and i usually take 4-7 just to hide from the enevitability that ill return soon to this reality. this song really hits home terra. keep at it.

@TheEvilAllan - just make sure you Take it safely. Maximum dose of of hydro is 15mg and DO NOT take more than 1000 mg of acetaminophen at one time! Do the math. Tell your doctor you drink a lot and ask to have your liver and kidneys checked.

@mandycat1986 Ok your wrong about some shit. The maximum dose for hydro is by far not 15 mg. Some people are allowed by doctors up to 120mg a day. I personally use them for recreation as well as for pain. I take 50mg at a time. Now as far as the acetaminophen in them yes your right, you should take more than 1000mg at a time, or more than 4000mg a day. I normally take 2500mg once a day. Considering these are 10/500, But 15mg isnt shit lol. anything under 50mg just pisses me off.

I still think about the time i almost lost my life, but that doesn't stop me from doing them. Vicodins is like my best friend. I know its a problem. I need them to make me happy. @carl1jefferson There are pros and cons taking these: Pros- you feel great satisfaction to everything you do while the pain that you might have mentally/physically are transparent. Cons- Can be very habit forming and addicting.

Have moderation and try to take it easy on the ones with tylenol in it (Think about your liver).

@carl1jefferson Well vicodin (aka hydrocodone) gives you a good calm high. It's a super chill high to be honest. Now some people might try and tell you that 20-25 mg gets you high, let me start by saying those people are idiots. 20-25 mg will give you a relaxed small buzz for the first time. If you want a relly good calm high that last for awhile take 35-40 mg. I say 40 for the first time but thats just me. Word of caution tho, do not exceed 4000 mg of tylenol which is in vicodin, in 24 hours.

If you get 40mg of hydrocodone by taking vicodin you have reached the max for tylenol. You dont need that much to get high, especially as a first time. Just two vicodin will get you the feeling. Dont be stupid.
