  • The guy drumming is for sure eddie from polvo

  • Reminds me of Sonic Youth

  • Polvo changed my life..

  • Now I know where Isaac Brock got his influence from.

  • One of my fav Polvo songs so damn good

  • This song (and Polvo in general) is like a really special woman for men of acquired taste; the instant it started (or when we first met, if you prefer), I disagreed with it. No, I flat out hated it, even though it appeared beautiful when I clicked on the link. But by the time the song was over, not only did I learn to curb our differences and love it unconditionally, but it became a part of who I am and what my values are. I just found out about this band, and I love them.

  • Yuck sent me here.

  • @rockafella563 Fuck Yuck

  • I wish the other kids my age were into this music. The only other person I know who likes Polvo is my Government teacher and he's 54.

  • @skaterfan93 How old are you? I'm 26 but started listening to polvo in middle school (97/98'ish)

  • @MRJMBD Just turned 18. Everyone I know seems to be into thrash or dubstep these days

  • From Argentina, POLVO TILL DEATH ♥

  • love the way they "slowtime it" right at the end...

  • You know, 93 was actually a pretty damn good year for music.

  • @KingCrimson776 - Being a teenager in NC in the early 90's was fuckin great. The Cradle had great sub pop shows every Thursday and great local bands like Polvo and Archers of Loaf!

  • ash

    eddie

    dave

    forgot other one

  • Polvo hasta que me muera!

  • I love Polvo. Saw them in 93 or 94 with Superchunk, and after Polvo played, I should have left because Superchunk seemed like a joke in comparison. I fucking hate it when people say they sound like Sonic Youth, particularly when Sonic Youth really sucked balls in the 90s. All this noise shit comes from jazz -- shit like Sun Ra. Like most music, black people really created the innovation, and white people co-opt it later. Not blaming Polvo for this -- it is what it is...

  • @SteveAlbinisPussy What u love, is to get fucked in the ass dude!

  • @HawkHardstylez Sorry, I'm not Danish. I know, all you bananakreiger in Denmark would probably like to fuck me up the ass, but sorry... I'm an American and strictly for the ladies. I'm not some Danish gay pedophile. Why is it that when they bust an international kiddie porn ring, like 70% of the perps are from DK? Why are Danish people so into child pornography? What the fuck is wrong with them? Child pornography and hatred of immigrants... Legos, shipping and whores (Gitte Nielson). THANKS!

  • @HawkHardstylez Hey, don't bother with Polvo... Their music has a lot of middle eastern influences. They even have Arabic writing on some of their record covers. Holy shit -- PERKERS! Unlike Danes, Americans seem to be able to appreciate and even incorporate different music from the world and create something of value that people will listen to for decades to come. Polvo are more immortal than Immortal (but they're Norwegian anyway, because Denmark doesn't have any exportable culture).

  • Man I can't get enough of this band, the beautifully dissonant melodies. Anyone have any suggestions for other bands with a similar sound? Already have a lot of SY, AoL, Chavez, Helium, anyone I am missing?

  • @macklemoreosis Truman's Water

  • @macklemoreosis Pavement?

  • Does anybody have "Taste of Your Mind"?

  • They were so good. I miss those days in Chapel Hill.

  • polvo means octopus in portuguese!

  • @zkagtrendy

    polvo means dust in spanish!

  • @skonthebass Si.

  • love it! best wishes from serbia

  • @dranfu I didn't make this video. It was was given to me in the mid-90s by the manager of the Archers of Loaf for a local music show we created it Chapel Hill. I'm not sure if he had an official relationship to Polvo was, other than friend, and I'm not sure if this was an 'official' video for the song, but all of the people involved in the video are friends of Polvo. Chapel Hill is still a small town.

  • Also, one of the guys in the band does flash by for a sec in this video.

  • @dranfu You don't really know what the members of Polvo look like, do you? Dave Brylawski and Eddie Watkins appear at about 25s and several times thereafter. So what if the main "characters" of the video aren't band members? That's not uncommon in a video. Whether Ash and Steve are there in disguise is debatable. Stop trolling this video and resume listening to Blink 182.

  • @dranfu

    OHHHHHH BURNED!

  • @dranfu dranfu - sorry man but you're wrong - its all polvo in the video - ash, dave - the folks on the bike are ron from pipe and jamie who used to go out with dave...not sure what the hell you're talking about

  • @dranfu Dave Brylawski is 100% in this video, unless has a twin brother?

  • Comment removed

  • @dranfu -- You're at least half wrong -- Brylawski and Eddie jamming with Randy Bullock on slide and my guess is Andy Freeburn with the hair.

  • @dranfu then who's playing...?

  • The best Polvo song and cool video :D

  • god, this is what indie rock used to be, good music, experimental, different, "weird", almost revolutionary...nowdays its just shitty pop rock clones

  • @cyroxxx Yeah ._.

  • just shor t of :20

  • ohhhhhh yaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! maybe what they wanted was a bucket of lead to weigh you down!!

  • @snakefistfighter always thought that it was love they were dealing about, so thanks for clearing that out.

  • o0

    v

  • Uo0

  • is this an advert for tramps' bicycles?

  • holy shit that's ron from pipe and jamie on the bike - my god we are old - good times good times

  • no polvo is young people music therefore you are young checkmate

  • POLVO TILL I DIE.

  • @paradox95 fuckin' A+. Cor - Crane Secret was a classic. The new album keeps the standard high too.

  • One of the greats.

  • Dave's guitar is probably made-in-japan, but Ash's is Italian guitar called Galanti.

  • @cambiamos Dave's looks like a funky Kent.

  • What great flow!

  • what are those guitars at 1:36 and 1:37 ?

  • probably japanese oddities from the 60s

  • Amazing!

  • yeah, I liked clerks too...let it go.

  • shoegazing at 2:46

  • I saw this band twice in the 1990s and both times I was dead ass drunk. Fucking pissed at myself!

  • aww this is some excellent slack esthetics

  • lol, that's ill

  • no age suck.

  • yup

  • i don't think they suck. they serve their noisy purpose, but we can all agree they pale like ale compared to these cats. alotta the acts we see nowadays are probably the result of good timing and business moves. if these cats came out today they'd be proper mint! we need a more patient , less capitalistic music industry and world as a matter of fact.

  • Agreed. I thought No Age seemed kind of contrived, plus the pitchforkmedia hype kind of turned me off. I'll give them another chance, maybe I'm missing out.

  • I bought their CD I didn't think it was that great. I liked a lot of songs but I was like "is that it?"

  • I heard some of their stuff. I think maybe I'm just a jaded old man with a "been there done that" attitude.

  • Yeah No Age had some really cool stuff but nothing like new or innovative. The songs were like "Yeah this sounds like MBV!" and then I decided to listen to My Bloody Valentine.

  • @HamburgerMartyr arent we all : )

  • so i'm not the only one who thinks pitchforkmedia is way too leniant on their ratings of indie bands (usually giving a high rating, because it's "indie") and heavily supporting the indie scene while not giving much attention to other great artists and styles of music out there? i really think they encourage the retard indie hipster's "better than thou" egos nowadays. plus their reviews typically suck: a lot of wordiness giving vague explanations. they're not very straight forward or blunt.

  • holy crap, this is great. definitely going to check these guys out!

  • vonucci

  • one of my favorite 7"ers of all time. this takes me back to a time when I was young and the hell of high school ceased, because I was the only kid in the suburbs with a record player. tiara and the other b-side were just as good. I wonder if they have shellac on this utub

  • math rock pioneers, absolutely legendary.

  • Bon.

  • fuck you ridiculous sacks of shit.

  • maybe time's new viking.

  • there's a lot of stuff around nowadays that's pretty similar to this, but worse, and people act like it's radical and brilliant. short memories.

  • similar? name some bands then, please? I´d happily listen to them!

  • sic alps,no age,.......that's all i can conjure up at this moment. no age are pretty good.

  • yeh no age are all right

  • to whoever marked me down, did you think i was criticising polvo? if so,you're mistaken. if not,see my other message.

  • Lo mejor!

  • My mom has the same exact tipping bird!

  • they played my club on their last tour I think it was 95...JUST PERFECT!

  • this is great! polvo are god

  • does anybody know who put this and vibracobra together?

  • very nice song

  • Fuck yes!!! Stunning.

  • One of their best.

  • EXCELLENT

  • has anyone got the lyrics for this one?

  • amazing song
