  • even if your cobalt and neons have a bit of an edge, its only because of forced induction, you guys have nothing to brag about in your srt 4's because your 2.4 tc can barely pull on a n/a 2.0.

  • Biggest difference between the rsx type s, cobalt ss, and srt-4 is that stock the cobalt and srt-4 will beat the stock rsx-s in 0-60 (torquey) but the rsx-s will beat them both from a 60 roll.

RSX-s on the other hand is 200hp with no forced induction. You are a tool for even making a comment like that, all you did was point out the obvious....so you are the dumbass. But im sure whatever you have my n/a Lexus IS300 2jz would whoop on whatever you drive.... 300+hp to the rear wheels and no turbo needed. Try again

  • @BattleAxWarior honestly i'd say you are being generous with those figures. you have to remember that the srt-4's and cobalts are setup with a lower compression for the FI. i'd say their power would be even less than that. I love the type-s, however the cam really only sets it up for horsepower, it lacks torque.

  • @ runtz52 yea i know but i got rid of the rsx last year for a Dodge Nitro R/T. I still have my 2001 Lexus IS300 with a few mods. Check out some of my vids i just started posting them up. Im also looking for the dyno sheets 263 at the wheels not bad condidering it was 191 hp stock, when they say they are rated @215hp. Will make a vid of them too when i find them, in the process of moving.

  • @BattleAxWarior Well I suppose it is a good thing that a driver isn't limited to naturally aspirated motor. :Honda has been in the tuner performance world for years. For the most part domestic performance 4 cylinders haven't had much of a market. So in turn it hasn't had time to develop on the performance side of things like its far east competitors. Give it time. In the mean time it is still easy to do those numbers in a vehicle that has more displacement and a turbo... and it will last!

  • Bullshit. The ring has over 73 turns. Some of those turns are so tight that even race machines have to slow down below 40mph on slicks. It tests a car in every way which is why it's used to show what a car is overall capable of. There's a good reason why car fanatics and magazines judge performance based on it.

  • I'm not sure what you're referring to, but it has been done. Scott Mohler's 2001 Neon R/T finished with a best run of 10.12 winning the 2002 NDRA Pro Stock championship. It has the stock 2.0L engine stroked to 2.4L. Since then, I've heard a CRX Si managed to beat that time, but I'm having a hard time finding info for it.

  • That's what I meant. Stock block. Just got the terminology wrong. Just like you called it a motor when it's actually an engine. A motor purely converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. In a car engine, there's a fuel so it's not a motor.

  • Actually, a motor is anything that converts any type of raw energy into mechanical motion, I.E electricity, hydrolics,pneumatics,combustio­n as its raw form of power. Also we might call it an engine here in the states, but other's refer to it as a motor because of the local vocabulary.

  • Don't get me wrong however, the Civ Type R is a very nice car that pushes incredible power for it's displacement. On another note, I couldn't even imagine how fast this RSX would be if it were converted to RWD. This car has to have an insane power:weight ratio.

  • Both the SRT-4 and Cobalt SS whoop the shit out of the Type R around the ring. Cobalt SS running 8:22 vs. the Type R's 8:47. Rumor has it that Stage 3 SRT-4's have run sub 7:45 ring times. Another thing, GM doesn't focus primarily on the Sport Compact market. It was a simple test to see how much power they could push out of their engine. Believe it or not, the SRT engine is very sturdy and well built to handle high boost. A local garage has a 500+ hp SRT that's a daily driver with over 100k mi.

  • Actually, GM built up a 2L Ecotec (Cavalier engine) into a drag race engine. It made 772HP on it's best run (not sure if it's wheel or crank). I'm sorry, but your comment is no less ignorant that many of the muscle car heads' here.

    If you don't believe me, look up "Ecotec" and "772 hp" on google.

  • I got mine when they first came out. They all had problems with 2nd gear. from cali to florida, people I knew had problems. Anyway I just got a new 2008 s200 and plan on going crazy with it.
