I was in Egypt in November 2010, just weeks before the revolution broke. All my life, I never dreamed i'd actually make it, to be there myself. Khemet to be precise, you'd better check out the works of Stephen Mehler (converted egyptologist, so he's got the background) and Chris Dunn, who did extensive work on the Hows and Whys of the Per Neter (the big pyramids! Not the step pyramids or other Mastabas) of Khemet. Also check out John Anthony West & Robert Schoch's works on the Sphinx.

@d0dge25 Stephen Mehler? While I am sure he has studied egyptology, his degrees are not in that highly specialized field. He's really no better than John Anthony West. I've read one of his books and it's riddiled with inaccuracies. If you had said R. A. Schawller de Lubicz I might have been a little more impressed. At least Schwaller had more of the requisite background in that he could actually read the source materials.
Not everybody is familiar with the works of the great Schwaller de Lubicz, hence I often refrain from recommending him - one needs a base of knowledge to approach Schwaller. I've got a few of his works/ teachings at home including "Temple of Man".
Also, for an eager crowd that wants to know "Khemet in a nutshell", Mehler's and/or West's lectures are very useful, BUT should only be the start of the "initiation" if you will ;)
You're mixing things up ... There are Mastabas at Saqqara that _resemble_ pyramids but they aren't real Per Neter (houses of the divine principles) but tombs which are Per Ka - (houses of the physical projection of the soul). That's where the pyramid-texts come from. They are just called such, because they were found in almost totally eroded Mastabas. So, totally different from that Per Neters in Giza & Dashur.

@pbmartin14 In the Pyramid of Khufu, in the highest chambers, and behind extremely heavy stones in the pyramid, the name of Khufu is painted there in a kartush. That is enough proof that the Khufu had the pyramid built.. It would not make sense for it to be there if the Egyptians were to primitive to move such stones.. We would expect the name to ONLY be on the front rather than the back.

In a documentary funded by the History Chanel, Zahi Hawaas showed other locations where the pyramid builders left the name of the king as well as the name of their pyramid building gangs. He showed that they were behind huge stones. ("Digging for the Truth, episode 1, season 1). -- Also the tombs of the pyramid builders being in the shadow of the Giza pyramids and the carbon dating all give enough proof when they were built.

The number of stones DIVIDED by the number of days Khufu ruled is equal to exactly 273.9 stones in a single day. You then divide that by 24 hours, and you end up with 11.4 stones placed PER hour. So that is a A LITTLE UNDER 1 stone PER 5 minutes... So, what's the problem, pal? I see none. It is perfectly possible to build this in the traditional time.
@kris01987 Except when the stones weigh 2-80 tons each, you have to wonder how they are able to place them and lift them so high with the technology that was present back in that time period. Some of the stones from the kings chamber where cut from a quarry 500 miles away. A little diffictult to do that in under 5 minutes.

And second, if Egyptian technology was too primitive at the time, then certainly AN EVEN MORE ANCIENT RACE would have been even MUCH more primitive. I was in Egypt in November 2010, just weeks before the revolution broke. All my life, I never dreamed i'd actually make it, to be there myself. There were a couple of times I shed tears at the fact I was really really there. To touch temple walks, my foot walked were kings, queens, Pharaoh's, workers, slaves, the rich the poor. Having gone once, I now NEED to go again. Even though I took the "grand tour" (just under 3 weeks), it just wasn't enough. It's so overwhelming when you first see it.

Some people do realize that they were not built in the recent ancient egypt, but rather in the pre Ancient times, there has probably been at least a mini ice age too since then (with volcano eruptions here and there, and not even necessarily super volcanos).

There are Mastabas at Saqqara that _resemble_ pyramids but they aren't real Per Neter (houses of the divine principles) but tombs which are Per Ka - (houses of the physical projection of the soul). That's where the pyramid-texts come from. They are just called such, because they were found in almost totally eroded Mastabas. So, totally different from that Per Neters in Giza & Dashur.

@d0dge25 so i guess depictions of akhenaton and his family bathing in the light of aton, along with his hymns to aton which are over the top, has no connection to the ill intentions within the atonist priesthoods... there was a very large routing out of atonism in egypt, so they ensconced themselves elswere. the evidence is all over in judaism and the "hebrews" history that their theology was originally egyptian. it is not ALL atonism, but the elitist core of it is, along with other religions

Like all esoteric teachings, when they get codified (i.e. Bible) or institutionalised and taken over by a patriachal priesthood, it became religion and, thus, derailed from its origin.

@d0dge25 i dont think any amun priests or people from the osirian mysteries or any of the other many kinds of theology in egypt were depicted in such an ego maniacal way as akhenaton, let alone with the military presence and the stamping out of the ways of life of other people in place of their own religion. not saying there were not wars before, but this form of sun worship called atonism was particularly brutal. the hyksos dynasties were full of weirdos and war lords.

@demalnun, the Amun Priesthood were the "makers & shakers" of the pharaos in the later dynasties. Such as the Pretorian Guard of Rome "made" the later emperors.
Such as the bloody Pope "anointed" the emperors of the middle ages.
You don't see much engraved images of Amun Priests, Pretorians and Popes (at least outside of the Vatican) compared to the rulers they "made".
These are also the people that make and break the history!

because the actions Akhenaton did, might resemble that of nowadays "new age" ideology. Trying to find a way back to the ancient wisdom (PRE-dynastic) while at the same time being kind of trapped in the already established religious system.
The Atonism you refer to - the religion - has only little to do with what "Aten" realy symbolised in pre-dynastic times.
Aten was only 1 out of 5 aspects to perceive the sun as an allegory for a life-cycle.
Ra is another one, and so is Amun....

That means we're dealing with a cosmology _totally_ different from our point of view and EVEN from the point of view in the later pharaonic dynasties. EVEN back then, the old pre-dynastic, pre-religious teachings were altready derailed because it has been codified and institutionalised.
Just like the churches did to the christian teachings.

@AdonisKingAXC the great pyramid ( this is a fact) was proven to be impossible to be built/desighned by the same people who built the other smaller ones. they are far more innacurate with the blocks, did not withstand the elements as good, and are clearly meant for burials, while the great pyramid has no hyroglyphics inside, and is clearly not meant to have anyone buried in it. the box in the " kings chanbre" used to be the arc, but not the arc that everyone thinks it is. and its around 12k yrs

@pbmartin14 In the Pyramid of Khufu, in the highest chambers, and behind extremely heavy stones in the pyramid, the name of Khufu is painted there in a kartush. That is enough proof that the Khufu had the pyramid built.. It would not make sense for it to be there if the Egyptians were to primitive to move such stones.. We would expect the name to ONLY be on the front rather than the back.

Why do u think this is the only damn hieroglyphics in the entire pyramid.... There were no mummies found in either of the great pyramids. NONE, ZERO, ZIP, NADA, NOTHING.

@JbMcQuade06 Actually, yes the forger would have had to move the more heavy stones, since Zahi Hawaas found the name BEHIND several OTHER stones. His name was not only in one place. Besides, even if it were only in the one place that you mentioned, even the painted name has been authenticated by Zahi Hawaas who knows more about Egyptology than any conspiracy theorist. Besides, it doesn't matter that no mummy was found; the fact there is a sarcophagus inside is enough proof that there was one.

All the egyptologist say that the pyramid were a tomb, there are no writings on the walls of the great pyramid ok NONE. if this was the site of a pharaohs grave there would be writing everywhere to help guide his ass to the afterlife. why do the great pyramids have no such writing? why? and that so called "sarcophagus" never even had a mummy... khufu's body hasnt even been found...

In a documentary funded by the History Chanel, Zahi Hawaas showed other locations where the pyramid builders left the name of the king as well as the name of their pyramid building gangs. He showed that they were behind huge stones. ("Digging for the Truth, episode 1, season 1). -- Also the tombs of the pyramid builders being in the shadow of the Giza pyramids and the carbon dating all give enough proof when they were built.

And you have not addressed that NO pyramid BEFORE the 5th dynasty HAS inscriptions.. Even the pyramid built by Imhotep has no inscriptions. And why is Khufu's funerary temple there if it has nothing to do with his tomb?

@JbMcQuade06 Not to mention, the Giza pyramids fit an evolution of pyramid building: 1) mastabas, then 2) Imhotep's step pyramid 3) pyramid of Meydum which attempted to fill in the steps, and then 3) the bent pyramid of Sneferu, and 4) the FIRST TRUE pyramid ALSO built by Sneferu, and the Giza pyramids came after. It shows a process of trial and error to the true form. Not to mention, none of them have inscriptions, but we still know who built them, so the "no inscriptions" claim holds no water

@kris01987. i personally dont believe the ancient egpytians build the great pyramids. all the pyramid they built are falling apart and look like shit now. the great pyramids still stand almost perfect, with erosion of course but not as bad compaire to all the oher ones. The other pyramdis were tombs i agree but not these 2 at giza. 2.3 million stones weing about 5LBS each. in 20 years - thats moving 1 block every 9 seconds 24/7 for 20 years. LOL suuuuuuuuuuuure.

Besides, your statistics are messed up because different sources say it was built in 30 years, and the work day was estimated at 10 hours which comes out with 34 stones being laid in an hour. It would more accurately be 1 block per 5 minutes, and that is assuming a 24 hour work day.-- A tall order, to be sure, but hardly impossible or implausible.

@JbMcQuade06 I take it you want the hard numbers, so ok. Khufu ruled 23 years. That is 8395 days. There are 2,300,000 stones in the pyramid. The number of stones DIVIDED by the number of days Khufu ruled is equal to exactly 273.9 stones in a single day. You then divide that by 24 hours, and you end up with 11.4 stones placed PER hour. So that is a A LITTLE UNDER 1 stone PER 5 minutes... So, what's the problem, pal? I see none. It is perfectly possible to build this in the traditional time.

@kris01987 Except when the stones weigh 2-80 tons each, you have to wonder how they are able to place them and lift them so high with the technology that was present back in that time period. Some of the stones from the kings chamber where cut from a quarry 500 miles away. A little diffictult to do that in under 5 minutes.

@cryan5280 First of all, not really, since that depends on how many people were working to pull any given stone at any given moment. And second, if Egyptian technology was too primitive at the time, then certainly AN EVEN MORE ANCIENT RACE would have been even MUCH more primitive. Occam's hammer favors the Egyptians building the pyramid. .. But also third, the calculation of the building occuring in ONLY 20 years WAS made my archaeologists BASED ON the technology they had back then anyway.

@kris01987 I don't entirely agree. Just because a later civilization has primitive technology doesn't mean a totally different civilization that lived before them would have even more primitive technology because they could have been wiped out or they have just migrated to another area. And if you have to lift 100 ton stones up 400 feet in the air, simple pully systems wouldn't exactly work. So the main question that must be addressed is HOW it was built rather than how quickely.
