the rule is, if you're past the intro of the song, and you have gear issues, you suck it up, keep your composure, and finish the song. the beauty of playing live is that you can make those kinds of situations work for you, if you don't freak out. Find a new dynamic of the song, and exploit it. This shit happens. And you don't switch to a new guitar in the middle of a song if you're the singer. You do that in between songs.
this was a huge festival. while it still shouldnt happen, this kinds of stuff happens all the time at festivals due to a lack of sufficient set-up time, etc. This is the reason why many bands dislike playing huge festivals like this, because lots of stuff can go wrong. Don't blame the band though. They played very well through it.
What a performer. His guitar wasn't making any sound, so he performed without it. He turned it on, realized the tuning was off, and he still kept going on, until, i think he finally tuned at the end of the song.
he sang 3 x louder because of the guitar failure, seems he wanted to make up for it because he cared, that was rock!

Don't care if there were technical difficulties-Spoon is a great live band and Britt was very professional during this performance.
