This song was one of Franky Lane's biggest hits EVER. Then many greats like Elvis and others recorded it before Marty finally did.
This hit by Frankie Lane was the 113th #1 song on what is now Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts. It also hit #24 on the Top 40 charts.

written by marty robbins but frankie laine recored it first in1969 then marty recored it the same then of course elvis sung it in 1973.
