The Pentagon is unable to properly account for 8.7 billion dollars out of 9.1 billion in Iraqi oil revenue entrusted to it between 2004 and 2007, it was reported on Tuesday.

Sure, people *could* be puppets, but to assume so without evidence places one among the kooky conspiracy theorists. I'm sure they have fun because their ideas of the world read like bad fiction, but they're also crazy.
I see lots of evidence; when I piece them them together to form an opinion, puppet comes out.
You can say there's no 'proof' of someone's hunch a stock will go up or down (at least not to your satisfaction) but sometimes you rely on information + intuition and to make decisions.
We can't possibly have 100% proof of anything we aren't experts in...(and even then it's up for debate) so in the end we must believe one way or another... or not.
I have no proof of my parenting skils but that doesn't mean I should wait for proof before I go ahead and start a family.
I guess you can call that crazy, too. The world is tied together through beliefs. I have enough proof of puppetry but my goal here isn't to convince you one way or the other.
We are arguing very subjective things based on the same (or different) data. Time will tell on all this, and even then it's down to one's definition of puppetry :)

I believe that assuming good faith (absent strong evidence to the contrary) is generally a good idea in life - I've known doctors, lawyers, politicians, and the like and while the system sometimes makes it hard to be squeaky-clean, I don't think they're often deeply corrupt. Also, the academic political/events journals I read help make the world make a lot of sense to me. Still, I can't be absolutely certain.
Calling this Bush's mess is getting really long in the tooth when in fact he could have stopped many things but instead he is extending Bush's policies. But you see it's not about Bush or Obama it's about the money masters who control the government; the politicians are mere puppets of their wishes.
