Sorry, but Fahey & Kottke didn't write this tune together. Actually Fahey stole/borrowed the majority of the licks from a Sam McGee tune... "Railroad Blues", and a part of Elizabeth Cotton's "Vestopal". Fahey recorded it much earlier than Kottke as well (& I believe before they even met).
...this gives him time to move down and catch the first formation E chord hammering (on the G to G#)then the A chord again first formation..(not where you play it using the F formation 5th fret)
I can send you the tab in Tabledit and you can see and hear it as you play the tab and learn exactly what Leo does....One other point I would recommend..Learn how to use your left hand 5th finger IE your Thumb and what better number to use for this but the Last Steam Engine Train..
I enjoyed your clip but one presumes that its Kottkes version your trying to imitate...so to sound like Leo you have to study his playing..Hardly anybody makes the bend riff sound like he does simply because they do not play it like he does..the next note following the bend is an E note and its played on the open first string
smooth jam I really like this slow mellow cut!
very nice.

The song is not Leo Kottke's, it's John Fahey's.

I am not trying to be critical here but just commenting on how you can move onwards as a guitar player.
