@db4mvp No need, if you wanna get anywhere on snow and ice, buy a car with 4WD, ABS and some sort of stabilisation system (Like ESP). Then buy good quality spiked winter tires. For example: Audi A4 TDI (diesel because of torque wich makes it easier uphill on slippery road) quattro with Continental "Winter Viking" or "Ice Contact". If you have any trouble driving in any condition (except too high level of snow of course), it's cause your driving, wich actually is impressively bad in that case.

I live in ND and we can get anywhere from 4-10 feet of snow... our streets are ALWAYS cleaned by the time school and work starts.... if it's snowing during that time the snowplows are going almost every other hour. It's just that here they don't know how to handle it because they don't get it that often. They probably only have 2 snow plows in that whole county.
