Right, To all who use Anti-Aliasing, Turn it off. It's retarded and pointless unless you are booting 2 GPUS or 1 fucking insane GPU like the ATI 7970. I myself use the 6970 and it works like a dream! :3
currently i have both set to 4. and again, i know this isn't going to make the BIGGEST impact. but that's not what i'm going for. every little bit helps my gaming experiance, and helps my pc's lifeline.
so if i could set either or down a notch without much of a notice lemme know. i'd just like to avoid instantanious swords on the ground, or rocks i'm walking up to, as least as possible. if possible.
If nobody minds my nooblyness... what is the difference between object fade and item fade?
not that these are the biggest deal in the world. but my pc isn't the greatest. and i was running fine before mods, but when i discovered a Buster Sword off Final Fantasy, mod... it had to be added to my game. so i was wondering the difference between the two... and whats the best setting to have them at that would make the least notice. also which one affects performance more/less.
I have a small problem here. Whenever I move my camera down, the character and the rest of the world turns to black, not really black, but it becomes more darker and it's so annoying. What settings should I change please ?
@hanseykemmerer skyrimnexus is the place you need to go to for mods to improve performance or improve visuals at the cost of performance. As for what settings its just preference, I prefer 60 frames but the consoles run at 30 so you can download the frame rate cap from that site and cap it at 30 so it feels smooth like the consoles.
@a1rh3add When I launched the game, it didn't swap to the proper video card, since I have two: an Intel HD and an Nvidia. Now when I launch, the game uses the Nvidia graphic card, which is much better then the Intel HD Graphics...
@The109926 You should be able to play on High maybe even Ultra...I have a "AMD Radeon 6490m 1gb DDR5" and I can play on Ultra (I might turn shadows down to medium for extra FPS). My settings is 2xAA, 8xAF, FXAA enabled, all reflections on and all sliders right NO LAG. I can play EVERY game that has came out recent maxed ,Crysis 2(with no AA though). Battlefeild 3, etc..Starcraft 2 is only game give problems.Skyrim optimization is amazing unlike what everyone else is stating GTA 4
guys i can't see dragons fire breathe or any type of element the breathe i'm on lowest settings. what should i turn on ? so that i can see dragons fire breathe and stuff
@TheHasani1994 i think u can run the game just fine just put it on low settings if u want less lag or if there isnt. try to experiment. mine lags in medium graphics already LOL since put it on low graphics i can't tell where the dragons shoot -.- so i'd have to figure out where the fire not fun at all if u can't see dragons breathe fire
@TheHasani1994 You should be able to play medium or High, maybe even Ultra, but take it easy on the AA and AF and resolution. Even though some sites say "low" for your card, that just reference at what setting they have it on which is maxed HIgh res, High AA, and maxed AF. e.g: instead of playing @1920x1080, try 1280x720. Actually Skyrim is beautiful on low so if you have to dont feel left out you wont tell the difference. Skyrim is hella optimized..for everyone
can u give details of what Specularity fade means? the fades... umm. what else.. the Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering. so i can better understand pls :D thanks
@chaoshart Specularity fade is how quick the "shine" on things like armor, windows, show up Antialiasing: is a method to remove a jagged line from a texture. For example pull out your blade look along the blade's edge if you see things look like stairs AA removes that to make it straight, including building etc..
@Amunnakht thanks bro! so how do i fix this? i'm on low settings like all low. but i can't see the dragon's fire breathing or whatever element he's firing and i can't see my flames too same with frostbite how i'm using PC.
@chaoshart Try turning on radical and decal quality up...although Im not 100% sure as to if thats the fix for your problem as I do know radical handles the effects of blur from getting hit and splatters on screen and decal handles the blood on sword and on ground other effects when uses magic. As I say again Im not 100 but give it a try hope you get if fix Skyrim fun..Try updating you video card too..Skyrim DOES have bugs due to it being a port, and a patch is on the way
@chaoshart Anisotropic Filtering: is where textures are detail at a distance, like the ground right in front of you is high detailed but further down the road its blurry, with Anisotropic Filtering it make the road high in detail from a distance.
what's better for improving performance: setting the quality to low, or reducing the other settings like draw distance? I only want to go as low as I need to reduce pauses from the game, I don't want to reduce everything to low. So which will help more?
@fowad27 the draw distance is not much of a FPS killer like other games, The most important factors are turn off all AA, AF to 8x and shadows to medium and lower you resolution. If you lag after that , then its just time for a new Computer my friend. Also dont be ashame if you have to play on low, like I told other guy evenon low Skyrim is beautiful
@Amunnakht I have a pretty good graphics card (sapphire AMD 5650) but not the best processor, so I get some long loading times and pauses during gameplay if I play on high. I want to know if I can make the game run smoother without sacrificing the good graphics. I think if I keep the game on high but reduce AA, AF and shadows like you suggested, I might get the desired results.
@fowad27 Yes......but the sliders in the advance section deal more with CPU; like actor fade, grass fade, give them a try first before disabling AA and AF.
@fowad27 just like you said, Lower shadowing and what not... HIGHER the stuff you want, but you got to lower the other stuff you dont... Mix Match thing
Hello, How do I set the game to low quality? i have semi-lag with high quality because of my video card and somehow i dont find how to put to low settings in the in-game menu ?? please help
@QuinnNguyen anisotropic filtering is for the image i am talking about seeing(loading) npcs that are long and be able to see them cause i usually see them only when they are in close
@QuinnNguyen No offense, but please don't give out advice or uneducated guesses.
AF is the quality of a image from different angles... He has his NPC distance at a minimum, that's whats wrong, he needs to raise it higher to view NPC's from a further distance.
Once again, no offense just please look into that. Good video.
@kostas574 Turn up your NPC view distance, AF nor AA has nothing to do with this, they are just image filtering devices, to increase the quality of a Image.
@kostas574 It just adds extra lag and it keeps the option on even if you have not controller plugged, in so when you turn it off instead of the controls being set for xbox and pc its only pc.
btw you know increasing the fade makes it look worse right?
that means the further away you get, the more it disappears
