  • 2:21 i've flown.

  • thanks polarone ;-]

  • i dare any recording band anywhere to attempt to cover this!

  • i think jonny should get some crazy solo in here somewhere

  • the jungle battle march

  • What does Thom say at the beginning?

  • Jonny should of been doing the quite picking that is in the album version, other than that it's pretty good. Doesn't come across very well though.

  • @23lFrench Hard to see him, I know. Jonny is the one on the far right, 'playing' better than the album version. Thanks @PolarOne for this upload.

  • @AbandonedMind thanks for the link mate i will watch it later, i really hope it blows my mind

  • @AbandonedMind Yea i have seen that, i actually have it on my computer. Thats mostly in rainbows and hail to the theif songs on that, there are no songs from the King of limbs on it. My point was i dont think the songs from The king Of limbs work live. in rainbows stuff and hail to the theif songs live are incrediable

  • God, I really want them to do a live album performance of TKOL. The album was one of my favorites, and the the live versions are even better, in my opinion.

  • i have been a massive radiohead all my life and always will be, but king of limbs doesn't work live for me

  • Dat tandem drumming

  • phil's twin is having a great time

  • Wow, the dual drummers are really badass. Wow.

  • Why can't they just re-record TKOL with an ensemble like this?

  • hahahahahahahahah ed!!!!!!! what a showman

  • Never really liked this song that much even when it was just Thom and a steel guitar back around the time of HTTT or whatever, the song is a bit meh isn't it?

  • @Vincecouk Best song on KOL.

  • @TheSeagull1984 paper bag writer is amazing

  • thanks, man!

  • as always, hearing Radiohead live is a COMPLETELY different experience to hearing the album versions of these songs. I was worried TKoL was going to be all minimalist dance music, but this rocks!

  • @GStarDragon you hit the nail on the head - one of the best live acts you'll ever see, and even the dancey minimalist stuff has a really full, organic almost woody sound to it. Ace.

  • it's official. radiohead butchered tkol in the studio. virtually all of the songs on the record are positively MASSIVE live.

  • Fucking Fuck! King of Limbs is real!

  • this will be the best live oh my lord O_o

  • Glastos good but, I'm disappointed Radiohead have to hire two record company guitarists to augment their live show. They were such a critically important band in the 90's.

    Check out other Magpie at:

    youtube.com/user/tomhwoods

  • @tomhwoods I'm not seeing any extra guitarists...I'm just seeing an extra drummer, Clive Deamer.

  • @tomhwoods chu talkin bout willis. clearly just ed and jonny

  • @tomhwoods ...2000's too, bud. Oh, those imaginary "2 record company guitarists" appear on YOUR channel? Ok, cause I was wondering where they were on this one..

  • @JOLLYJOEY101 Clive Deamer. He also plays drums for Portishead, Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man etc.

  • Colin is a sweetheart, Phil is the peaceful power, Ed is the cool dude, Jonny is the shy musical prodigy (what? he's still a child) and Thom is the magical-voice-great-lyrics-writing nutcase. Ah, I love them all!

  • @AmelieDemy That is EXACTLY how i feel about all of them.... And I swear Ed gets cooler every time i see him :)

  • @uptownxgirlx Yeah, he does! I prefer the nutcase though... ummm I mean Thom!

  • I need Colin to come write some bass for my music.

  • so,ed is less useful than clive deamer ?

  • @ssdeepintrbl Diss ed again, and I will hunt you down

  • @ssdeepintrbl

Ed would be useful even if he just stood there and stared ;-) Although I have to say I miss his backing vocals on the new record.

  • @Eva40779 He only does the back vocals at concerts... I think

  • @AmelieDemy I guess he did some on In Rainbows... ? Whether or not, I think he is very good and should be more involved this way... At least when they play this new stuff live. Ed´s and Thom´s voices sound beautiful together. Like R.E.M.´s Mike Mills and Michael Stipe - perfect combination.

  • @Eva40779 Yeah, you're right! They sound great together

  • Don't get all the moaning about not playing classic songs. Who gives a fuck? This sounds amazing! What other band is making crazy cool music like this? Who cares about planet telex when you can go mad with this? And anyway, didn't they play a tonne of stuff from in rainbows anyway, finishing with street spirit? No pleasing some people!

  • @Kropotkinskaya

    Seriously. Right on.

  • the bass seriously makes these songs... so sick.

  • That sounds like one epic clusterfuck of musical instruments!!

  • this shit is boss man, dont care what anyone says. didn't like this shit before. but i can see, played like this, as a welcomed staple of future radiohead shows amonst the more known songs purely because of THAT BASS and the energy

  • Thanks a million for posting this and letting us see this great footage, I'd have given my right nut to be there!

  • Simply a great song, haunting guitar riffs, and that bassline is sick!!!

  • Oh for gods sake the album is great it is Radiohead if you do not like then do not buy it or even waste your time listening to the album or Radiohead in fact,,,,,It is good that Radiohead is trying different styles of beats, music etc instead of sticking to the same old style that some band do

So Radiohead go one keep trying the new but still remain a little with the old

  • @Braatjezima Apparently it will be available through BBC on Friday, so yes. And I was planning on building my PC that day lol.

  • @a0lexcam no.

  • this song is an entirely different beast live, and it kicks ass

  • Self indulgent!!!! It was a special guest slot not a headliner - regardless of that they can do what they want. They seem to be enjoying themselves playing what they want to play and it sounds bloody fantastic to me. Isn't that what it's about?

Anyway what does aimed 'at the purists' mean?

  • i love the way he syncopated his vocals, the rhythm is not exactly like the album, i prefer this version, way more funky! :)

  • One of the very few highlights of this set and one of the biggest disappointments I've had in 5 years of Glasto. I'm a fan but have somehow managed not to see them before, when watching their previous Glastonbury performances I just assumed that they didn't do bad sets... this was one of the most self indulgent sets ever, aimed at purists and the bands own members. When they begrudgingly played Street Spirit at the end I thought they might redeem themselves with a couple more hits - sadly not.

  • @jamescraiguk oh go away with the negative comments! FFS! They played the new songs, you should expect that! and the set wasnt that big, 14 songs, man people like you call yourself a fan, when you don't act like a fan at all, suppose to be support!

  • @jamescraiguk Are you kidding me? You're upset that they didn't play enough of their hits? This is the first live performance they have done after releasing King of Limbs and you're upset they didn't play their old stuff? Fuck you man.

  • @gemroi This isn't their first live performance of King of Limbs, they played the entire album recently I heard on the radio. My problem is that at a festival you don't have a collection of hard-core fans (especially at Glastonbury as the line-up is released after tickets are sold, and even more so at a "special guests" slot), so why try to appeal to just them? Use a tour for that! And did I really deserve a "fuck you"?

  • @jamescraiguk - On the contrary, I'd have been disappointed with a set full of 'hits'! And I'm not a purist, just someone who likes seeing a band giving their new stuff a try out on stage. I'd find it hard to respect a band who didn't do that. With a recent album full of unplayed material and a surprise set on a small stage, you couldn't have expected otherwise, surely?

  • @jamescraiguk nobody is going to agree with you.

  • @yousuperpussy Bold statement. And wrong. I essentially agree with him. If I was standing in the mud and rain at glasto and wasn't a massive fan I'd be very dissappointed. Even AS a massive fan I have a feeling that the atmosphere there wouldn't have been so great. It's just an odd place to test run new stuff, particularly from an album that wasn't THAT well received. I don't think it's self indulgent really, just misguided. Sure they can do what they want, but not even a handful of classics?

  • @greyztone well picture it like this.... legendary band plays special guest slot at festival = unhappy audience.... something is wrong with that statement. I see what your getting at and it boils down to: they didn't play songs you wanted to hear, which leaves the blame in the audiences hands if they didn't enjoy it.

  • @yousuperpussy I spoke to loads of people when walking away from the set and even more around the festival and every single person I spoke to was of the same opinion. Maybe from the comfort of your living room/bedroom/office it was a great set - standing in the pissing rain with feet stuck in the mud I was hoping for something magical; this, I am very sad to say, was not.

  • @jamescraiguk i didn't know it was raining. i see your point.

  • Why Ed looks like The Edge (U2) in the Joshua Tree Times ??? xDDD

  • At :37 Ed is saying, "Yeah, I know I have nothing to do on these new albums, but I still get paid!"

  • @aperturius listen to the album verion and you'll hear Ed

  • @etejuanete3 Ok, now it's up to you to prove to me which guitar part he's playing on the album.

  • @aperturius what?? is not like I can sing or hum it to you or anything, but you can hear 3 guitar parts, Thom's playing the main one, Jonny's playing the one that sounds a bit more melodic, and Ed's playing one similar to Thom's sound, but it's repetitive, and it complements the main guitar part pretty well

  • @aperturius In the live version you see how important he is...he's the one who made the arrangements in the live version, he's the one that put the details that made the Radiohead songs so amazing. I don't think he is useless.

  • @franflozeg I never said he was useless. In fact I think he's a brilliant musician. But it's simply undeniable that he's being underutilized in most of the new songs. Maybe he's happy just doing the occasional rhythm or background texture and if he is then great. But I just wish they would give him more to do.

  • this is pretty sick. them going off and the rain coming down. I mean it looks cool, probably sort of freezing being there and all. Thanks for the upload though, made my week!

  • ESPECTACULAR! =D

  • guitars :)

  • @xDeeJayBee haha its "alright, here is goes!"

  • Hail to the Polar1One!!!

  • Greaaaaaaaaaat.!!!

  • HELLO THE KING OF LIMBS HATERS!!

  • THANK YOU Polar1One !!!

  • Gotta say that yes, this performance is amazing, but the bokeh happening on the camera lens is effing awesome.

  • dat bass

  • Holy shit, Colin.

  • prefer this to the album version. colin fucking nails this tune!!

  • oh this is much better! God, I'm so jealous of the people who were there! Lucky b@st@rds! lol

  • Thank You!

  • Colin MAKES this song. Otherwise the whole thing is tuneless. "Stole my melody" indeed.

  • @aperturius yeah. Really can't stand this arrangement of the tune (album and live). But hey, personal preference I guess

  • This is much better than the album version, there's a lot of energy that's missing in the studio

  • when i saw this i was like.... goooooood morning

  • yeah listening with headphones - you really understand it better

  • God came back to Earth and his name is Polar1One.

  • 2:08 when the bass comes in OH MY GOD

  • Is it me or this one live is so... danceable? O_o

  • would have been my favorite if the vocal melody wasn't so off sync

  • @xDeeJayBee sounds more like eggers....whatever the hell that is haha

  • Fuck yeah! Colin fucking rocks. I can't wait for From the Basement !!!

  • Alright here goes*

  • Prefer the album version guitar, unless it is just my speakers.

  • @xDeeJayBee alright here it goes haha

  • With headphones the bass is amazing, i dont know why i can never hear on my laptop lol. This gig is for headphones, pure amazing, colin is the bass man! :D

  • KOL translates live....no question.

  • Just thank you :)

  • I was there, this performance was so surreal and brilliant

  • Santa Clause is real and his name is Polar1One!

  • @Boomkin1337 And he apparently enjoys coming really early with kickass presents!!! You rock Polar1One!!!
