Nice video, i lived in london and have been away for 20 years now. Seeing the scenery brought me back the memory of daily sights i used to have. Thanks for posting.
I used to travel from Kings Cross to Farringdon and - in my 1 hour - oh ok i kinda stretched it!!! :-) - traveled from Faringdon to Barbican every lunchtime i could :-)
Thank you for posting this and bringing back happy memories of a better time especially as right now i am having a bit of a bad time :-(
Great Video. The only issue is that on the description it says that Kings Cross is the first station. Can you please change this to Kings Cross St. Pancras, because that is the station's more accurate name.
Excellent video...Only 2 signals on red....Am I right in saying that the circle line trains have to lose up to 9 mins due to the circuit taking less and the way in interacts with other lines?
@ETSxSILENTJOKER - You jump down there and do it, then. An electrified live rail and a rapid service that goes every three to five minutes, yeah, top idea that is, son...(!)
@Camberwell86 Live rail... as in everyother track then? (apart from the freight line ofc) and 3 to 5 minutes? you have no idea how fast a writer can do his thing under pressure. Keep spotting trains, son.
@Camberwell86 but i may add, im no graffiti artist, but i do see the artistic side of it, and it brightens up my morning when im going to work, n look out of the window, instead of seeing walls and railings, i see people risking there lives just make people notice them.
If you think it's so gay, why did you click on the video, I mean really youtube has thousands of videos you could have chosen to watch, but instead you clicked on this one. Don't be in denial, your gay, am I right?
why dont drivers have there headlights on when in the tunnels? it would be nice to see whats iin front of you even if it is just track and black walls.
Brilliant video this. I've always loved the underground, and this gives you the essential flavour of the cut-and-cover lines like the Circle and the Metropolitan, with their glimpses of London through the backs of the buildings. I'm going there later in the year and this just makes me want to be there now.
Superb, my five year old is autistic, can't speak but has a fixation with trains and especially tunnels. watch this about 15 times a session and he goes into overdrive, complete euphoria, flapping his hands and jumping up and down. Don't remove this from YouTube. Essential viewing!!!
@testament1uk Hi, I'm also an Autist, (Asperger) and if I'm over drived I also flap my hands, and make an internal pressure and hold my breath. I love trains so much, therefore, I am able to do almost all underground station announcements from Vienna by heart.
Great vid, hope to see more of this type. This is just the thing for the anglophile linebasher ;-) Why dont you record or type the station names as the train enters them??
me and my friends were tripping balls and pulled up a couch and watched this thinking we were actuly driving the train..we had the best time of our lives...take drugs kids and watch this..u will understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see there are quite a few London Underground videos like this, but it is quite hard to find a mainline train driver who has done the same thing. London Underground train drivers must just be cooler!
You're wrong there actually, the Central and Victoria are also ATO athough there are drivers in the cabs incase of an emergency. Soon the Jubillee will also be ATO and the Northern and Piccadilly lines aswell I think.
I meant that drivers on the deep tube lines are maybe allowed to drive faster. As you can see the track quality on this line is very poor! Maybe your drivers in Cairo are instructed to drive quick. I wish they were like that here, especially when driving next to cars :P
Sub Surface Trains share the track, Like Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan, and Circle, so more trains means a slower speed, Plus, The system AND Trains are in need of renovation, which is why the S Stock is coming soon.
Either this is a trainspotter allowed up front, or this was taken by the driver him or herself! The Tube, being the first underground on the planet, should spend some funds and retrofit an untinted window opposide the driver's side and allow for the general public to enjoy this view! (This separation stems from the old steam hauled days. there is no excuse in not allowing for the riders to enjoy this view as well! C'mon rolling stock designers, let's give it a go!
Sorry i didn't mean to sound ungrateful to you posting the content. It's something i never ever thought about, but i saw the video by accident, and was curious. I guess my expectations were it would look faster.
Kings Cross St Pancras Eastbound or clockwise which ever way u look at it. Lines share the same track hmmmm....there is a centre road into a bay platform shut from public there as u enter eastbound
I found it interesting that so many platforms are curved. On the SF BART, all platforms are straight, so that you don't have to "mind the gap" quite as much.
Great video! But...why does it seem sooo much slower than New York's subway?? NYC put some constraining speed limits on some of their lines in recent years. But some lines, such as Brooklyn's Brighton Express (the "B") seems like a bullet train compared to this video. I thought London was better at speed...maybe I'm wrong.
I love the visual beauty of this video. It is so relaxing.
Thank you!
I wish one could buy stuff like this in DVDs with commercial quality at the store. Not the usual over edited Rail Road DVDs. But long lasting shots from a point of view. Can I? Tell me, please, if anybody knows.

yeh but if you think of the congestion problems in london anyway,
and the substantial cost of creating a system like that,
your thinking millions of pounds.
And the tube is a way of getting round london quickly, not for sightseeing.
So there are many flaws in your thinking you need to consider.

Yes, I was actually driving at 190mph, but I slowed the footage so as to allow for better viewing otherwise it all just whizzes past.
