I wish we did dr who stuff here in America. HUGE FAN OF THE SHOW!!!!!!! it's amazing I just turned on BBC america and it was on. Wow the tv can be so amZing sometimes
Mark thank you so very much for uploading this first Dr Who at the Proms I was promted to seek out more after viewing the 2010 Prom last night on the BBC TV channel. How awe inspiring. How wonderful to be introduced to many of the classics through such a great combination I am awestruck. I could not belive how many tiny children had been taken by their parents. Dr Who and the classics will be spread through generation to generation. Thank you
I know who the Beatles were, just cant place the song.and ther is no need to be sarcastic i do remember the beatles, and i did know it was for ten, though others on here would tell me it wasnt.
@debbie1879 a song by the group The Beatles ... everyone has heard about The Beatles! And the song is about the Tenth Doctor. That's why it is called 'Song for Ten'
I've since found two "full" versions of the Dr Who Proms, but they've been severely edited: this series of vids is the only one I've found to have the classical music and the songs on it. I don't know where humprhies2004 got his copy, but has he considered compiling a DVD of it? I'd buy one!
bless you for taking the time and trouble to upload this video.
I can't imagine the amount of organisation that must have gone into this event - working out the music would have been enough of a task ... add in the actors ... how no one fell down the steps in those masks is a miracle!
What a wonderful way to introduce young people to classical music! - and "who" knows what influence the "close your eyes and listen to the universe" will might have on young and open minds!
thank you so much for doing this. I'm a humongous Doctor Who fan from the United State and I know you guys are so blessed to have a show such as this to enjoy those Saturday nights. The music is superbly emotional. The Doctor has recently started being played in the US, but it is just not the same (more commercials, etc.) I really thank you again for this. Absolutely inspirational!
