Let's stay ontopic. Awesome poem. Nobody's saying this is as epic as milton or shakespeare, it's a small poem, but a very accurate and descriptive one, political, psychological and humorous, it's great!

Queer, yes. Overrated, no. Kerouac's a pussy. _On the Road_, for one, is weak on more than one level. Ginsberg's real. It's not one of his best poems, but it's very powerful nevertheless, and relevant to our times.

The character of the objections to my comments reflects the low class, rude, & ignorant character of the man who wrote them. This is not surprising as he appears to be a defender or admirer of Ginsburg. That, I suppose, is the type of fellow who likes Ginsburg. Just as we expected.

Instead of baselessly calling Ginsberg (spell his name right, please) "trash", "fraud", "fool", "excrement", perhaps you could grace us all with a balanced critique instead of calling this video's viewers names without knowing us?

What Ginsburg writes requires very little talent, but derives its energy from the spirit of revenge against the society he hated; he shouted his accusations against that society in "Howl." The full weight of his attack is felt in its desire to be as offensive as possible, and to shock bourgeois sensibilities. Much of his ranting is incoherent,except for these characteristics.

What do you mean a "balanced critique"? I said much more in the groups of carefully chosen adjectives I used to characterize Ginsburg than you appear to have noticed. You should consider them more carefully. It's impossible to avoid 'satiram scribere' in this case.

From Ambitious to famous for being a rebel, Ginsburg was a fake. He is really the spiritual twin of what he claimed to despise: bourgeois man. He was the perfect bourgeois, who tricked himself into thinking he was a ingenious and unique non-conformist. A man of resentment, and low class pleb who loved the gutter. He resented everything good, high, noble, priviledged, healthy, beautiful, sublime. He was excrement. Maybe like you?

From unmotivated and drunk to being President, Bush is a fake. He is really the spiritual twin of what he claimed to despise, an autocrat. He was a perfect autocrat, who tricked himself into thinking that he was a man of the people and a champion of freedom. A man of fear and doubt, and a scion who pretended to be compassionate. He resented freedom, democracy, diversity and intellect. He was worse than excrement, he was a fascist.

Mr.Rockit: your comic paraphrase has no bearing on anything I said about Ginsburg. I was not defending, nay, I did not ever mention George Bush. It is as stupid to call Bush a fascist as it would be to accuse Ginsburg of being a communist. I m sure that wont deter you. Obviously your thoughts about American politics are even more simple minded than most people's. Even moreso than Ginsburg's!

Queer, yes. Overrated, no. Kerouac's a pussy. _On the Road_, for one, is weak on more than one level. Ginsberg's real. It's not one of his best poems, but it's very powerful nevertheless, and relevant to our times.

Kerouac is not a pussy, On the Road is a very important work. Granted Kerouac's poetry is not the best, but you need to give credit where credit is due asshole
