Before the song, he told a dramatic fictional story about being 10 years old and living in Germany where he was in a children's group headed by Cardinal Ratzinger (the real name of the Pope), whom he referred to as "Papa John". That's why he's wearing the lederhosen under the altar boy cassock and surplice. Apparently, Gale Harold was in the audience and saw his performance. It's nice to know they are still friends. <3
