These days I think you can keep an old Vespa forever on the road. You can get spareparts from Sips (Germany) and there are plenty of restorers everytwhere. Forget LML!!
Past is gone man! You can find an old Vespa but you have to invest money and the engine is anyway always old... you can drive it for few miles! Buy instead a new Vespa powered with 125 cc or 250 cc. But the best is Vespa 300 cc!!! The most powerfull Vespa ever made by Piaggio!
It's maybe true that the newer Vepsa's have a better engine, but they don't have that nice look anymore. The old Vespa's just look better. And you can have a perfect working old Vespa for the same money as an new Vespa
@texasvespa the engine can be old, but thanks to its semplicity and reliability you'll hardly get problems. And anyway, if something's not working, you can fix it by yourself, which is harder to do in the newer Vespa (fixing a carbureteur is easier than messing up with the electronics, trust me).
Long live Vespa! (by the way, Piaggio should really start producing again the PX)
Must have been a woman driving the beetle.

@echoes89 it is going to produce the px again, the prototype was at the EICMA 2010, but i don't know if its going to be sold outside italy.
owever i agre whit you, the new vespa is just a scooter that somehow look like a Vespa, but i don't call it a vespa if it hasn't gears.
