  • dick taylor original stones bassist i believe. great mod sound on this.

  • I saw them in 1967 many times. I believe it was Viv Prince on drums in the beginning, this show its Skip Allen on drums, John Stax on bass, Phil May singing, and Dick Taylor on guitar. .Their perfoming back then was similar to The Who with wrecking the stage and gear.

  • how did they get that sound??grooovy!

  • great style!!

  • phil on some angles looks a bit like dave davies .the kinks

  • This is Iggy before Iggy

  • So much soul in under two and a half minutes!

  • FUCKIN AMAZIN!!!!

  • ace

  • wow the drummer looks almost exactly like mick jagger

  • MORE GUITAR!

  • Midnight To Six Man - The Pretty Things [England] - 1965 - "the song is a BRASH, roaring celebration of the group's nocturnal pursuits on London's club scene." - Nuggets II: Original Artyfacts From The British Empire And Beyond, Vol. 1-2001. NOTE The Pretty Things was one of my better finds. :-)

  • The most underrated band of the sixties - and the seventies!

  • Very great band!!! Phil looks like Iggy...a few years before!! One of the best group technically as good as rolling stones ...

  • best title to a song!

  • Always solid drummers in the Things.

  • @dolliegirlcat- agreed. i always say they shoulda been as big as The Rolling Stones. Luck was NOT on their side, like a few other bands i could name.

  • Very underrated 60's band.

  • LES PRETTY THINGS A PARIS LE 4 NOVEMBRE AU BUS PALLADIUM!

  • A jewel!.......takes me back to being about 14 years old and leaning on the old Dansette with their E.P in my hand...

  • In my opinion this is the best live version on here!!!!

  • Great sound quality here.

    Bit of a ramshackle performance,but still...LEGENDARY.

  • This is from Beat Club, WDR German TV 16 April 1966. Also on the same show: "Roadrunner" & "Rainin' in my heart", both found on Youtube.

  • Some groups maded fabulous recordings but were a disappoinment on stage. This is an example...

  • @jt123egypte

Think this and a lot of the Pretty Things live stuff sounds better then their recordings.

  • @jt123egypte Check out THIS live version they did, also on YouTube: wwwDOTyoutubeDOTcom/watch?v=VTj5fTP7Qlc&feature=related

In my opinion, even BETTER than the original studio recording.

  • talk about the most underrated band of the 60's.

this bands catalogue has been plagiarised relentlessly.

  • COOOL

  • They played this at the 100 club 13/11/2009. Awesome.

  • I dig big......

  • Love that sound,so raw! Prettys' til i die!!!

  • You can't even transcribe the lyrics properly.

  • If you want I'll transcribe 'm for ya

    Stumblefuck ....s'eazy.

    Tell you some more.....

  • They were a smokin' live band.

  • BTW, where that show took place?

  • Somewhere in Hamburg, I think. It's from the Beat Club.

  • Dick Taylor is Jesus!

  • NO....... Jesus is God. Dick Taylor is just a man and sinner like you and me. But the Good News is that Jesus loves you and He died for the whole world just to save us and to have fellowship with Him. God bless you. Daniel.

  • Euhm... I was just ironic when I said it. Nothing self-serious like a demented huge fan.

  • John Stax on bass - great stuff !

  • @openbluesband I think it`s Dick Taylor on bass. May be I am wrong ?

  • Mmm , i'd say more wholesome than fat...

  • hes fat

  • what a great performance, totally dig phil's voice and hair!

  • great sound, I still have that original vinyl single.

  • Can see The Saints in these guys!

  • Damn! Souns great-as they often had then. Skip and John sound powerful-Dick and Brian mesh like a machine and Phil explodes! BTW--funny to see Dick taylor without a beard!

  • does any one have the bunch of fives from beat club?
