Just returned from his concert in Copenhagen:) A wonderful experience, though he seemed a bit distant, whether from arrogance or shyness I have absolutely no idea... But we definitely have to do with one of the most interesting new guys on the scene! Looking forward to see what he cooks up in the future.
@Nimgawl Your whole comment is a modern version of the comments made of a young Miles. Christian Scott has some of the same eccentricities of many jazz giants.
I just saw the introduction of this song on Cultura24 a Dutch television program where he played on the north sea jazz festival.
It's about the 13th amendment wich is about slavery in the US. Today. His nephew has been 13 years in prison, since he was 14. He was falsly accused of murder but his witnisses could not testify because they were releatives.
i was there right on the front row of that gig. the crowd were in awe the applause at the end of the song was a long time coming. Such a great artist, such a meaningful and powerful song.
Was listening to the radio yesterday, and he was being interviewed and performing live. He played this song and In a desperate attempt to find out more about his music, I wrote his name as a text message and sent it to myself because I didn't a pen or paper. I am obsessed with this song.
@ChaoticBlossom similar story. i heard him tonight on the local smooth jazz station. It was the song American't and i just got so excited listening to it. i'm never one to listen to jazz passionately but it just got me. holy crap. i usually listen to Explosions in the Sky and Don Caballero and Maps & Atlases and so i discover tonight it's all rooted in jazz. wow.
Thanks for posting this music, much appreciated!

Great to see fresh blood in the jazz veins. Check out his version of Thom Yorke's Eraser; very cool.
