@Fender1976uk, actually Duran Duran was pretty good in their own way. I liked Wham but yeah they were cheesy, but I give Duran Duran for being the Kings of New Wave music and they all are very good musicians.
yeah well, that's the magic of it - they did it with a much less user friendly equipment and what's more - at the beginning of the 80s ... so stfu please
electro body music, (the trasistion between synth pop, and indurtrial) sounds like a darker version of new wave, has a more of a daceable dark metal/house vibe, if u like this stuff look up anne clark, project pitchfork, depesh mode "in the late 80's", and CABARET VOLTAIRE !, other songs by 242 you should try r headhunter, and welcome to paradise...for starters
"We saw them live open air in belgium in 1984. When they start playing everybody were sitting on the floor because of boring gigs of Anne Clark and Killing Joke. It was amazing. Then Front242 came on stage. We jumped up to fall into this unknown musicstyle.
Front is the best in this genre. There is or was a German band called A Fact that has some songs that sound a bit like old Front. If anybody can find videos from A Fact please let me know.

EBM? I'm not familiar w/ that term (and I've been an alt-music fan since the 70s). Can u educate me?! I remember when the 'No comment' LP came out in '84 there weren't many bands of that ilk. Are you thinking of bands like Soviet France as 'true' industrial? They sure were noisy!
EBM - electronic body music, mixing industrial, electronic and punk i guess. industrial was mostly noise without much rhythm but by the end of the 80s it became know as a more clubby style, with those metal guitars coming to the fore. am i in the genre ballpark here, readers?
Great song, but I still always laugh if I imagine a belgian with furrowed brow scanning the control panel of his drum machine and singing "there is no shuffle here?"
Too bad about the whole paramilitary getup, its just all silly and insulating. Their earlier video on toob here where there's just humans on stage is more engaging.

I agree. If you really like heavy industrial music you may check out the US band called Ministry.
(They have some really good songs, but if you are a big fan of US President Bush you may get offended).
I myself am more of an Al Gore type.
Some links from youtube on Ministry, just copy and paste the links into your youtube search engine.
