A non-3D sensing of energy is nonmental, astral, sensing of not just the three states of matter, but also of 'nonmaterial' aspects of what ever other configuration of consciousness. I use qualitative dimensions to describe it. Matter vibrates. When water doesn't vibrate it is ice, when it does, it becomes water, when it vibrates even more, and expands, it becomes a gas. This is just the first qualitative dimension, which can 'normally' be perceived through three spatial dimensions, maybe not the individual atoms with the naked eye, but still. Then there is the second qualitative dimension. Emotions.

These vibrations are not 'limited' to the idea of thermal energy. Thermal energy is a physical analogy, even the word vibration is an analogy. More along the concept of radio waves, light waves (phonons). Thoughts, ideas - these are etheric, not physical.
