I'm just an old man I guess, but I remember ditching High School, (Not A Recomondation), to see them do the vidio "Where the Streets Have no name" it was great then, the band is great now! Listen to their words in this song and all of their songs and you can hear Christ! I thought everyone knew most of their songs are about Jesus. That's why their songs are SO phenomenal and actually touch people. I always thought 'City of Blinding Light' is about Jesus Christ. Another cool thing about U2 is how sexy Bono is at this time in their career. Women of all ages find him delectable in all videos from HTDAAB. Yumyum. OF course, he is no man whore. um well while they will not deny Jesus, as far as Ive seen in interiews, not all their songs are about Jesus, nor do they have to be or need to be. BLINDING LIGHTS was about their first time in America in NY, per an interview with Bono - in fact in one of the NY clips of this surprise concert, Bono talks about that. Now can it also be applied to Jesus or God? sure! MUSIC is personal & to be experienced as such, usually.

One of the beautiful things about U2's lyrics is that they can be about many different things depending on how you interpret them. This song could be about Jesus, The Who, or maybe Bono's wife, Ali. I am a believer, so I can see how the lyrics are about Jesus, but I am not so narrow minded that I think that that is the only way to interpret them.
