@Jomagaher it's actually a fictional language. The entire soundtrack is sung in a fictitious language that is based on how a certain language and dialect would evolve in 1000 years time. Also each song is based off of another language. Hope that helped :)

No matter how many times I have played through this, when this music plays at the scene in which the king's bride to be lays dying in his arms, my eyes well up with tears. The moment he grasps her body in agonizing sorrow, I can't stop myself from crying with him.

Never have I played a game before that had made me cry so many times, and the games marvelous OST brings the perfection and emotional tragedy of this game's tale into one.

I sung this for my graduation of this year and everyone felt sad and cried but it was all a good thing. I had the instrumental version to this and just sang in Emil's place and they fell over heels for it and I was extremely proud. Love you Emil!

And btw. Nier is one of the saddest games ever. you play through it once you feel like your journey was hard on only you and the deaths that occurred. But play it again and each time you progress there is more pain inflicted. This song is like the theme of the whole game. Its a bittersweet game but one that I will forever remember.

I'm sorry. But I'm afraid I don't have the sheet music. Before I found there were lyrics to this, I did this by ear and the same for the piano play.

But yeah, NieR is one of my favorite games. I even put it above FF, KH and Castlevania, and I don't EVER put a game before those three. I just wished this game wasn't so underrated just by some reviews. But I guess that's what makes this game so special.

@sasunarufan22 ah lucky you got perfect pitch and all that? haha i was never musically gifted but i do love music. one of the things i love about music is its like speaking to a loved one for days in the matter of minutes. all the emotion conveyed through the song..

another downfall would be that im a bass and my highest note would usually be around D or E (the ones after middle C. middle D? lol). i wished my range could be the whole keyboard sing some soprano songs too

Lol. I wouldn't say I have an angel's voice but it was good enough to where everyone didn't complain or give me the "please stop singing cuz you're terrible" eye. And I'm not good with notes, I just go with the flow. But it's really easy to learn the piano. I wanna learn the cello or violin but---those seem really hard.

Im not saying it wasent cold as a blizzard in the antartic durring the ice age....but he loves his daughter and his friends, and he will do anything to protect them...and save them. The problems of the world are the kinds of things you'd rely on a military or large kingdom to take care of. It's no concern of his, therefore, not his problem. That's not to say he doesn't feel anything for them or doesn't feel compelled to act, but his goal is his daughter and nothing more

The Shadowlord is the real Nier, who was trying to protect his daughter in the beginning of the game. All he's trying to do is save her, from you, the Replicant Nier who has developed an unnatural personality over time.

I felt the biggest impact the game had was what they had done with the newgame+.

If you haven't played at least once through that, I highly recommend you do so.

It gives you more insight on the shades and what they are.

I personally felt the biggest impact came from the fourth ending where choosing to sacrifice yourself literally causes the game to delete all of your saved data. That was truly unexpected.

Playing through the game again while hearing all of the Shade's voices mostly made the actions throughout game feel bitter.

@Archlord877 couldn't agree more... The fishing quest(s) are the most fun! Nier takes a certain level of intelligence to play, if people judge the whole game just because they can't catch that shaman fish then they need to stop playing RPGs all together.

no one can sit through a rpg before judging them anymore. the body and soul of the rpg is the story. if the story is crap then theres no way anyone can sit through the whole game even if the gameplay and graphics are solid. Nier has made my list of worth while rpgs let no one judge it just because they couldn't get past the fishing quests which were the most fun of all the quest types if you ask me

Having attained Ending A + B in 2 days, I gotta say, I've loved this game. The scene where the King kills the Wolf brought a few tears to my eyes. Seeing those extra scenes where the Shades showed humanity and then soon to die, it did choke me a little. I suppose it goes to show that humans themselves are cruel and mercilessly kill.
